We are seeking a talented individual for a Database Administration Manager who is responsible for ensuring performance, security, and integrity of the database as well as overseeing the planning, architecting, developing, and managing databases and procedures to support enterprise applications and business functions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manages the database administration team including performance evaluations, hiring, and distribution of work.

  • Develops database architecture and standards.

  • Develops and maintain database communications infrastructure and topology.

  • Configures and upgrades database software.

  • Maintains the overall enterprise database architecture including number of instances and how each is used.

  • Designs and implements databases in conjunction with the application development and Enterprise Data Analyst teams.

  • Evaluates database features and related products.

  • Provides consultation and troubleshooting for the development team.

  • Establishes and maintains sound backup and recovery policies and procedures in conjunction with the Server System Administrators.

  • Sets up and maintains database documentation and standards.

  • Interface with database vendors for technical support..

  • Plans database growth and changes (capacity planning).

  • Provide 7X24 database support for production databases.

Non-Essential Responsibilities

  • Performs other functions as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and with a team under supervision.

  • Ability to sit for an extended period of time.

  • Ability to view a monitor for an extended period of time.

  • Ability to talk with individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions to surface essential requirements information.

  • Knowledge of and ability to use SQL and Project

  • Exceptional analytical, statistical, quantitative, and deduction skills

  • Must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and have strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to take after hour calls.

Work Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Primarily sedentary work in a general office environment

  • Ability to communicate and exchange information

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret documents and data

  • Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects (up to 10 lbs.)

  • Requires manual dexterity to use computer, telephone and peripherals

  • May be required to work extended hours for special business needs

  • May be required to travel at least 25% of time based on business needs

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required

Minimum Related Work Experience:

  • 10 years with 1 year in management or lead position required

Prior experience should also include establishing and maintaining a center of excellence for event management, datacenter support, and system support. Ability to demonstrate prior success of operational effectiveness within a large organization. * Excellent verbal and written communications skills * Strong leadership skills * Organizational health and design skills * Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Work, Excel, and Power Point * ITIL v3 fundamentals * Extensive knowledge of vulnerability and patch management processes and procedures * Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or related field.
