Requirements / Qualifications

THE POSITION: The Data Warehouse Systems Analyst supports the implementation of a countywide database warehouse system and manages the development of data solutions for school districts.

This job reports to the assigned -administrator. LOCATION: 313 W. Winton Ave. Hayward, CA 94544

TYPICAL DUTIES: Leads the development and implementation of ACOE's data governance policies and procedures, communicates best practices with internal and external partners.

Ensures that all ACOE data systems comply with data security guidelines as defined by the organization's data governance policies; establishes a framework for compliance of ACOE data systems with laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures related to data privacy, protection, and security, including those found in FERPA, HIPAA, and the California Education Code. Designs data concept architecture mapping for the county's districts for integration into the data warehouse. Develops technical policies and specifications for data importing and exporting, database system development, maintenance, backup and recovery.

Research, review, and provide consultation on software to determine feasibility of use. Assure data integrity, referential constraints and procedures for database systems to assure proper operation. Analyze and diagnose database system problems and take appropriate corrective action for resolution.

Maintain network system standards in database system development that optimize system integration and functionality, oversee the daily operation of backups. Interface with system administration and operations staff at all levels to ensure efficient use of database systems. Manages all regular security audits, risk assessments and analyses of ACOE's data systems, researches and responds to suspected and real data security breaches.

In collaboration with other partners, designs and manages complex projects to ensure successful and timely delivery of milestones. Trains selected personnel for the purpose of ensuring their ability to use new and/or existing databases and related software. SEE FULL JOB DESCRIPTION FOR MORE INFORMATION

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Systems Administration/ or related field, Master's Degree preferred Experience:

Four years of directly related experience in database system administration and design, programming development in a client server environment specializing in data modeling and normalization as well as data warehouse schema design, school district experience strongly preferred Equivalency: Equivalent combination of education and experience.
