Title: Data Warehouse / Database Developer

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with design, architecture, security & performance tuning for Databases.
Write technical specifications to guide the selection of and integration with different Database systems.
Design, implement, and test the structure and schemas of data warehouse.
Write stored procedures and code to implement extract, transform, and load methodologies.
Design, implement, test, and debug database stored procedures and complex queries to extract, calculate or manipulate information.
Participate in Clients development of strategy, processes, skills, and operational practices for the support Database integration and development.
Develop applications and enhancements from requirements high-level concept meetings Strong understanding of data models and the data dictionary without IDE assistance.
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and business users in development of new functionality within applications.
Develop ad-hoc queries and reports on demand with short turnaround times as determined by business priorities.
Design applications and support Oracle APEX web application development platform.
Assist in the development of BI/DW architectures coordinated with Client
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
10+ years of experience developing relational database driven online applications
5+ years of Oracle/PL/SQL (Oracle10/11/12) experience
2+ years of SQL Server experience
Proven track record successfully developing Oracle database driven online applications that exceed expectations
Enjoy working in a highly collaborative, Agile-based software development environment
Very good understanding of database design, architecture, security & performance tuning
Ability to develop applications and enhancements from requirements defined not only in functional specifications but also in high level concept meetings Strong understanding of data models and the data dictionary without IDE assistance.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment cross-organizationally with and without direct supervision.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical & performance issues in production environment.
Ability to Develop ad-hoc queries and reports on demand with short turnaround times as determined by business priorities.
Advance level skills in PowerShell scripting.
Experience in HTML, JavaScript, XML, XSL, AJAX, JSP, Web-services, VB/VBA and JAVA a plus.
Experience in Oracle APEX (web application development platform) a plus.
Technical understanding and development experience of BI/DW architectures

Project management experience.
Higher education experience preferred but not required.
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies.

This position will have a high impact across the client. Database integration, decisions, planning, and support will have a high impact for various research, education, business units across the Customer.

Job Summary: Hosting Services Applications Environments is an outcome-aligned organization which is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of all compute environments including mainframe, traditional midrange, IaaS, PaaS and Public Cloud. The Senior Database Administrator position is in the Mainframe Database Management group which is part of the Data Platforms group. The Mainframe Database Management group is responsible for many functions in servicing Application Development and Hosting Services Db2 zOS and IMS operational databases, including, but not limited to: Database design; Performance tuning; Backup and Recovery; Security; Disaster Recovery; Capacity management. The individual will collaborate and consult on development of complex technical decisions, security standards and will contribute to architectural decisions. They may act as team leader on moderately complex projects. These technologies may include coding (Java, node.js, REST Services, REXX, etc...) for internal web applications and developing new functionalities on and off the mainframe. About the job: * Design, test, implements and secures the organizations' production and non-production databases in a high-volume OLTP environment, utilizing state of the art database concepts and employing leading-edge maintenance techniques to maximize Application availability * Provides consultation to Application Developers / Data Modelers on - Database design; Performance and Tuning; Database engine enhancements; Database Utility usage; Database Security features * Provides support for various activities including: Database maintenance; Application releases; Performance tuning; Disaster recovery; Database software upgrade and patch testing; Schema change and Utility Automation * Works under limited supervision * Assists in training less experienced DBAs * Provides oversight and expertise to application developers * Collaborates on the development of technical and security standards with other database administrators and technical resources for Db2 z/OS and IMS * Provides rotational 24/7 on-call support for production environments * Performs related duties as requested or assigned Desired skills: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. * Minimum 5+ years in the design and administration of logical and relational databases in diverse technological environments. * Proficiency in Db2 for zOS v11 and BMC DB2 Database Utilities and Products (DB2 online Reorg, BMC Copy Plus, BMC Change Manager, BMC Log Master). * Monitoring and tuning of IMS v12 databases to assure database performance, availability and recoverability in IMS DC/DB and batch environments * Use and support of DBRC for registered databases * Support of HAL databases and migration to HAL databases * Use of BMC MAXM EP utilities for IMS * Use of BMC Database Advisor (Database Management Console) * Knowledgeable in new and emerging technologies. * General knowledge of layered systems architectures and understanding of shared software concepts, cloud based platforms, and development tools. * An understanding of the Agile methodology. * Strong consultative and communication skills, analytical ability, judgment and the ability to work effectively with client and other IT management and staff, consultants and vendors. * General knowledge in the following areas: IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies, architectures and technical standards, database administration tools and utilities, application architectures and design principles, infrastructure architectures, backup and recovery, storage subsystems, and replication concepts. * General knowledge of business functions and business operations. * Must be proactive, adaptable, collaborative and be a logical thinker.
