VIEW JOBS 12/10/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-10T00:00 Your Responsibilities: Exciting minds with our Future Leaders Graduate Program – Product Development and Supply Are you an organized graduate with the skills to turn pharmacologically active substances into life-changing medicines? Join us in Product Development and Supply, and you'll be part of a function that develops medicines from discovery through clinical trials and registration, to the factory and beyond. Our team of scientists and engineers also manages R&D supply chains to ensure that the right experimental medicines and discovery research compounds get to the right place at the right time. What you do will be determined by the needs of our product pipeline and the role you are working towards. Because of the highly specialized nature of the science and engineering work that we do, Future Leaders in Product Development and Supply vary markedly between individual programs. This exciting new role is in informatics and is part of the Product Development and Supply Future Leaders Program based at a Philadelphia area site. The informatics and data team at GSK is developing a domain of end-to-end product data, by integrating and curating data from strategic source systems. Pharmaceutical development and manufacturing data will be integrated together using an ecosystem of IT infrastructure and Big Data tools, which will enable analytics and new insights from data to be realized. As the domain continues to grow, it will be critical to have experts in data analytics that can unlock business value (new science, improved efficiency, project acceleration) from the data generated throughout the asset lifecycle. What will you do? As a data scientist in the informatics and data team at GSK, you will: * Lead the definition and delivery (including implementation and change management) of our data science and analytics solutions across a number of R&D departments * Provide expert technical input and support on data science and informatics to a number of R&D departments * Act as a "voice of the customer" for a number of R&D departments by keeping up-to-date with their challenges and requirements * Work closely with partners in manufacturing operations towards the vision of a continuum of data, information and knowledge across the product lifecycle * Stay updated on new developments on the cutting edge of computer science, data science and informatics, bringing in those that have the potential to transform the way we operate * Ensure the sustainability of our data science and informatics solutions, through the definition and delivery of business processes and guidance material Develop your leadership potential on our Future Leaders Program Over three years, this Future Leaders Program will challenge and support you to grow professionally and personally. You'll have three stretching rotations, which begin with 16 months in the role for which you were hired. You'll then have two rotations (12 months and 8 months, respectively) in two related technical areas, which could be within or outside the department. You will choose your second and third rotations during the previous rotations. These will be in the country where you are employed – and, ideally, they will fit both your career aspirations and the needs of the department. You could choose placements in regulatory affairs, global manufacturing and supply, biopharmaceutical product development, drug design and selection, project management or another technical area that's relevant to your department. To make the choice that's best for you, you'll need to network and explore different areas through development days. Whichever areas you select, you'll have the chance to build a range of skills, while enjoying mentoring and networking opportunities that are designed to help you excel. Participants will meet regularly with their line manager to identify learning and development opportunities. Science is the bedrock of our success and our scientists are among the world leaders in their fields. If you join the GSK R&D Product Development and Supply Future Leaders Program, you'll be part of a network that enables us to register and launch three to five new medicines each year. Part of a vibrant, global scientific community, you'll work in teams that combine a mix of disciplines. We're at the cutting edge of science and technology, so you'll never be far from an expert who can help you to learn, grow, and contribute to our business.
