What you will be doing/ Main responsibilities

The Merchandising Item Management and Data Standards Department has an opening for a Data Systems Administrator.

  • This position can be located in any of the following locations: Pleasanton, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Plano, TX, Boise, ID.

  • Utilize knowledge and experience with SQL, Excel and Dashboarding tools (Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) to solve business problems for item product data integrity.

  • Perform discovery in multiple data sources from within the organization and externally from third parties.

  • Provide input and analytical support to cross-functional teams running data science and AI procedures.

  • Develop and manage automation procedures for efficiently updating data.

  • Design, develop and implement user applications to translate and transform data.

  • Perform and present cost benefit analysis to the team, senior leaders, or with technology partners.

  • Partner with a wide range of business resources to understand extensive data attribute needs and definitions.

  • Work with the product and technology team in the implementation of solutions to deliver ongoing comprehensive business rules to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

  • Create presentations and documentation such as user guides to support department initiatives.

  • Manage large scale data projects, defining work efforts, developing project plans and reporting on progress.

The salary range is $72,100 to $93,640 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

What we are searching for

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 2+ years of complex data mining and analysis experience.

  • Strong proficiency required in SQL and a relevant database platform (Snowflake, etc).

  • Experience working with GCP services (Biq Query) strongly desired.

  • Talent to develop advanced queries with multiple data sources.

  • Ability to frame problems, dive deep into analyzing complex data sets, evaluate implications and present insights with actionable opportunities.

  • Excellent communications skills with respect to translating business needs into a data analysis approach and translating analysis results back into business terms.

  • Proactive, always looking ahead and anticipating business needs and challenges.

  • Advanced skills with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Visual Basic and Dashboarding tools (PowerBI, etc.)

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision under time demands.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with leadership as well as technical experts.

  • Possess a high degree of initiative, self-motivation and resourcefulness.

  • Grocery industry or related background preferred.

  • Strong teamwork and customer service focus.
