Data Strategy Manager

Cooley is seeking a Data Strategy Manager to join its IS Knowledge Management & Innovation department. The Data Strategy Manager will be responsible for unifying the various data-related processes, databases, system integrations, end-user consumption, etc., under a single data-centric strategy for the firm, and for providing leadership to members of the data team.

Duties include leading the advancement of our data methods, acting as designer and planner for major data projects, and provide lawyers and professional staff with real-time access to accurate, complete, consistent, relevant and actionable data. The Data Strategy Manager will also work closely with colleagues in the Security and Information Governance Compliance teams to ensure compliance with firm policies related to information governance, data management, retention, privacy, and information protection.

Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in computer science or technical discipline or equivalent, 10+ years related information systems experience, 5+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL programming and business intelligence report writing, report development tool usage and business requirements gathering, and expert knowledge of MS SQL and MS Power BI. Preferred candidates will have an advanced degree in related disciplines, experience with law firm enterprise accounting systems, Salesforce, Workday, iManage, contract analysis tools and external research databases, and previous supervisory experience.
