The Data Strategy team within Market Intelligence takes a research-oriented and strategic approach to discovering new avenues of insight, manages the inflow of compliant data into our team's process, and is responsible for managing effective and efficient data and research partnerships on behalf of the firm.

Data Strategist, Macro

We are looking for a data strategist to join our team to support the data needs of our growing Macro investment business. Point72's Global Macro investment teams focus on trading and investing across multiple geographies and asset classes, primarily focusing on global fixed income, currencies, and derivatives. In this role, you will collaborate with our research team, macro investment professionals and leadership across the firm, and external data and research partners to source prospective providers for our investment teams.

What You'll Do

Your responsibilities will include:

• Research data ecosystems and opportunities as you support the team's effort to identify, evaluate, and internally introduce new data and research sources to internal consumers

• Manage relationships with data and research providers, including facilitating requested service changes, ensuring internal use of services follows the firm's contracts and obligations, and staying current on the evolving data market

• Build and manage internal relationships by fielding questions and requests from investment teams, working closely with Compliance to evaluate potential new providers and manage existing providers, and supporting new hire on-boarding

• Coordinate new content provider on-boarding, which includes working with teams to assess content requirements, negotiating business terms, and coordinating approval

What's Required

• Bachelor's degree with demonstrated academic excellence

• 2-4 years of experience with exposure to alternative data or financial services background (buy-side/sell-side - ideally in macro investing)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail and high-quality standards

• A proactive and dedicated work ethic

• Ability to multi-task and switch gears for frequently shifting priorities

• Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across multiple business units within the firm

• Ability to adhere to the highest ethical standards and to work closely with the firm's Compliance team

The annual base salary range for this role is $100,000-$130,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
