Position Summary:

The Data Steward is responsible for administrative oversight of the Hartford Healthcare's Master Provider Database (MPD). Responsibilities include: data base management, data entry, mining, analyzing, and accessing, organizing, formatting and presenting data for the purposes of ensuring integrity and optimal performance of the Master Provider Database to support all related business functions. The employee functions as the primary administrator to provide data support in performance improvement, and quality improvement activities. Analyzes end user issues and provides business and technical support. Adheres to system and departmental compliance policies, and any and all applicable laws and regulations. Collaborates with Information Technology Services to ensure optimal performance of the platform. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Accountabilities include: data entry, report development, preparation and routine system management. Oversees data collection and secured data access. Participates in planning and standardization of processes to improve production or workflow. Provides recommended definitions (business terms) of data in MPD and maintains Provider Domain Business Glossary.

  • Coordinate with Information Technology Services (ITS) to develop technical updates/add-ons for the database including working with data consumers to understand provider data, coordination with ITS to resolve delivery issues or delay.

  • Participates in the Steering Committee and related teams to investigate/evaluate new data sources for MPD. Support the MPD Lead and the Working Group Committee by scheduling meetings, and providing requested reports to support agenda items.

  • Facilitate implementation of new data sources and distribution channels.

  • Facilitates user group meetings for issue resolution, providing alternative solutions to problems and proactively enhancing application design and implementation. Participates in project management as assigned.

  • Sets user rights and participates in training and development of users as assigned.

  • Implement and monitor compliance with data standards, policies, processes and business rules approved by the Steering Committee.

  • Provides subject matter expertise on data quality management and associated data cleansing activities, compliance with data standards, policies and procedures. Monitor MPD Data Quality (DQ) by reviewing DQ reports and coordinating with source system data stewards to address the gaps.

  • Provides customer response and updates according to current policies and procedures.

  • "On Call" responsibilities as required.

Reports To: Director, Analytics Education: Bachelors degree in business, computer science or related

Experience: 5 years in office work involving use of database. Hospital or healthcare setting is preferred.


Knowledge, Skills and Ability

Requirements:
  • Understanding of Provider related business processes and Provider data elements.

  • Experience in data analysis and understanding of common data quality issues

  • Project management skills to include process improvement, presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

  • Open to understanding new tools and technology (Informatica MDM, IDQ, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

  • Understanding of data analysis and strong analytical skills.

  • Knowledge of SQL is a plus.

  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to organize data, enter formulas, and create reports

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong general technology knowledge

  • Proven ability to provide support and train multiple users with varying needs

  • Proven experience in conflict resolution

  • Strong attention to detail and advanced organizational skills

  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks at once

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion and sound judgement

  • Travel within 30 miles of Hartford area

Hartford HealthCare Corporation seeks three Analyst III - Senior OBIA Developers in Newington, CT. Key responsibilities include working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) teams in providing enhancements and solutions to Hartford HealthCare's Oracle Business Intelligence Applications (OBIA); leading and guiding all design discussions; working with various teams across the organization, clients and other stakeholders to carry out the Enterprise-level Business Intelligence solutions; standardizing systems, business processes, and data elements; providing for seamless data exchange from feeder systems and between lines of business; providing technical expertise with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise edition 12c software (OBIEE) development, analysis, report and dashboard design; assessing production faults and critical issues followed by identification of the root cause; creating and implementing a long-term storage and business continuity strategy, including backup and recovery and data storage and archiving; developing functional and technical design documentation; designing, setting up and maintaining both production and non-production environments; adapting to technology changes and supporting development of mitigation strategies; supporting data conversion and integration activities as needed; performing OBIEE/Oracle Data Integrator/OBIA administration and configuration; training the ERP Administration Team on Repository DataBase (RPD), catalog and extract, transform, load object migrations while providing documentation; maintaining and monitoring the data documentation for all data warehouse and reporting formats; determining the optimal approach for obtaining data from diverse source system platforms and moving it into the Business Intelligence platform; establishing and enforcing technical standards for deliverables of projects; training team members on OBIEE and Data Warehouse concepts, new techniques and methodologies; and leading configuration and full set up of all OBIEE infrastructure, administrative tasks, such as OBIEE server installation, migration, and user maintenance The minimum requirements for this position are: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; 5 years of progressive experience in designing and developing End-to-End Business Intelligence solutions; 3 years implementation experience with High Availability Architecture for OBIEE/Oracle Data Integrator/OBIA; 4 years' OBIA project implementation experience, which includes the ability to lead, manage and coordinate all deliverables of an OBIA application, including design, administration, configuration, development, testing, deployment and post-production support; 4 years' experience in design, architecture, configuration, development and build of OBIEE repository; 3 years' experience in Oracle BI Apps' OBIA HR Analytics, Supply Chain Analytics, Financial Analytics, Procurement and Contract Analytics and Project Analytics; ability to provide technical expertise on overall architecture and strategy of the Oracle Business Intelligence solutions as demonstrated by 3 years' experience in OBIA system administration; and 5 years' experience in data quality issues and ability to investigate and resolve data validation issues.
