FS Energy is seeking a Data Specialist to join their Manhattan office!

The job responsbilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Utility Data Collection/Entry

  • Responsible for collecting utility & ESCO bill data through utility/ESCO's online portal, Avidxchange/AvidUtility and other resources

  • Enter or upload utility bills using EnergyCap (Energy Management Database) on daily basis

  • Benchmarking Reporting

  • Responsible for filing Benchmarking compliance report on annual basis for all FirstService Residential Managed properties

  • Report Card

  • Responsible for creating and delivering annual Energy Report Card to all FirstService Residential managed properties

  • Maintain Utility Database

  • Review, audit and reconcile utility data to ensure consistency and accuracy through daily operations report

  • Identify and fix missing, overlapping and/or other billing anomalies

  • Data Requests

  • Respond to energy data requests

  • Review utility data

  • Generate reports using excel (charts, graph & other presentable formats)

  • Data Analysis

  • Generate and present reports and/or findings based upon data analysis and tracking outcomes

  • Retain knowledge of energy market, regulations, energy rates and tariffs

  • Complete research on energy compliance laws

  • Responsible for written and verbal communications with property managers, accounts managers, utility companies, suppliers, associates and other internal/external clients

  • Assist MISC projects, tasks and/or other related duties to meet deadlines

  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work

  • Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential global service standards.

  • Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.

  • Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.

  • May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicative issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies and regulatory guidelines.

  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work

  • Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Must have 1-2 years data collection/entry experience

  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Able to work independently and in collaboration with others

  • Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct

  • Must have strong proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office especially Excel. Must be able to generate reports, pivot tables, keyboard shortcuts, advanced formulas, lookups, and indexing

  • General understanding of energy markets and utility tariffs is a plus, but not required

  • Knowledge of EnergyCap, Avidxchange and Portfolio Manager is a plus, but not required
