Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 315-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Specialist is responsible for the daily collections of data received and development of spreadsheets and other associated job functions. This position communicates regularly with staff to clarify application development issues and to resolve immediate problems.

The Data Specialist maintains the integrity of daily operations and designs custom reports and documentation utilizing appropriate software applications. This position acts as a liaison between departments and division and documents statistical information to measure productivity.

The Cash Applications Specialist will perform the entire cash applications process from start to finish for check deposits, wire deposits, electronic deposits and credit card deposits. This will include (but is not limited to) pulling bank reports & images, identifying the receipts, entering into the ERP or legacy system, communicating any dispute to the proper department, forwarding any inter-co receipt to the correct business contact and tying the entries made in the general ledger to the bank deposit once complete. Position also includes the accurate handling of offsets and adjustments from the collections and/or dispute team. The Cash Applications Specialist reports directly to the Finance Supervisor. There are no direct reports to this position. Specific Responsibilities: * Posting payments to open receivables. * Responsible to provide support to the credit and collections and field accountants areas as necessary. * Communicate with External and Internal customers to resolve discrepancies on accounts. * Support Accounts Receivable – Cash Application staff with account discrepancies by researching and solving payment discrepancies * Assist in handling collection disputes * Data Entry (Basic Entry) * All other task as assigned Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Skills or experience with personal computers, including electronic E-mail, Outlook scheduling, word processing and spreadsheet skills; SAP experience a plus * Strong data entry background with an emphasis on 10-key skills * Keen attention to detail * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal * General knowledge of accounting theory and accounting principles * Ability to handle multiple priorities with demanding deadlines * Ability to collaborate with co-workers to resolve difficult situations that arise * Ability to work with multiple computer screens * Ability to multi-task when necessary * Must possess problem solving and trouble shooting skills * Must be able to demonstrate a sense of urgency related to critical deadlines * Must be able to adhere to both company and department policy regarding time off Job Requirements Education/Experience: * HS Diploma or GED required * Associates degree in Accounting preferred * 1 – 2 years previous accounting or data entry experience * SAP experience a plus Functional Requirements: * Must be able to manipulate a computer keyboard * Must be able to follow direction * Must be able to maintain accurate files * Must possess professionalism in both written and verbal communications * Must have the ability to lift up to 20 pounds * Must have good vision with the ability to adjust to focus, with close vision * Must be able to sit for extended periods of time dormakaba is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
