The Job

This role supports SCAN's Customer experience and insights (CXI) function. The Data Scientist intern will work on analytics use cases to support the ongoing predictive modeling and/or NLP projects. The Data Scientist intern will collaborate with both business and internal team stakeholders to ensure best practices in driving value for our members from data.

You Will

  • Performs statistical analysis to build AI tools. Automates certain processes by creating data science algorithm (IE: regression analysis, supervised machine leaning techniques etc)

  • Cleans, processes, and identifies areas of improvement for data sets of structured and unstructured data that the capture member voice and other relevant artifacts.

  • Connects structured and unstructured data across the organization quickly to provided time sensitive data insights. Data sources including operational data, prospect data, call center data, core admin data, provider data, VOC data, clinical data, and external data.

  • Delivers Visualizations of relevant analyses to support business understanding

  • Performing analysis on SCAN Membership (e.g. population stability index, KS test, Kullback-Leibler divergence, etc.)

  • Creating a feature/variable store based off of phenotype and aggregate trends of caller behavior (central tendency measures, frequency, duration, transfers/escalations during call, slope of specific call categories, etc.).

  • Vectorizing members attributes for future predictive modeling, performing agglomerative and/or density based clustering to categorize members based off behaviors, events, cohort, etc.

  • Communicates effectively with various internal stakeholders and applies project standards.

  • Actively supports the achievement of SCAN's Vision and Goals.

  • Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in analytics and machine learning or graduate degree covering the same topics.

  • Ability to develop analyses and models independently.

  • Ability to document processes and analyses for reference/re-use.

  • Demonstrated understanding in the areas of big data, analytics infrastructure, cloud computing, data management, customer experience (CX) from data science perspective.

  • Seeks and participates in development opportunities above and beyond required training.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
