Info Gain Consulting is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team in support of our DoD customer. You will perform advanced analytics services to support duties associated with identifying, deterring, and investigating fraud, deficiency, waste, and abuse, as well as monitoring the progress made in the implementation of corrective actions.This is a remote position; however, limited travel to the customer site in the Washington, DC metro area may be required.In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify irregularities, trends, and potential issues within the data.
Model Development: Create and maintain predictive models and algorithms to detect fraudulent activities and assess risk.
Data Mining: Extract, clean, and preprocess data from various sources, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
Statistical Analysis: Apply statistical techniques to interpret data, draw conclusions, and provide actionable insights.
Machine Learning: Develop and implement machine learning algorithms for pattern recognition and anomaly detection.
Reporting: Generate clear and concise reports and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and provide data-driven solutions.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations in all data-related activities.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data analysis methodologies and findings.
Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
Must be a US Citizen.
Must have and maintain a current DoD Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or an associated technical discipline.
Three (3) years minimum experience in data science, including experience with one or more scripting or scientific languages (R or Python).
Proven experience in data analysis and machine learning.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL.
Strong knowledge of data manipulation and visualization tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and presentation abilities.
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or an associated technical discipline, including experience with one or more scripting or scientific languages, (R or Python).
Experience with Cloudera Data Platform, Cloudera Data Science Workbench (includes R, SparklyR, PySpark, Spark), and Cloudera Data Flow (NiFi) for analysis and modeling.
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps for deploying and managing data science solutions.
Proficiency in Tableau and/or Power BI for data analysis, visualization, modeling, and dashboard presentations.
Exposure to distributed files frameworks including Hive and Spark.
Demonstrated experience in preparing and editing technical documentation, data quality management, and data governance principles.
Experience in predictive modeling and forecasting.
Experience with text analytics including Natural Language Processing.
Familiarity with DoD or federal agency operations.
