Knowesis is looking for personnel to support the United States Special Operations Command Preservation of the Force and Family (USSOCOM POTFF) program in identifying and implementing innovative, valuable solutions across the Special Operations Forces (SOF) enterprise aimed at improving the short and long-term well-being of SOF warriors and their families.

  • This position is contingent upon contract award.*

Operating in consultation with POTFF program staff and the Government's POTFF biostatistician, the Data Scientist will:

  • Enter, clean, and conduct advanced data manipulation and statistical analysis

  • Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of program evaluation, research methodologies and data analysis

  • Deliver consultation and assistance to supported units and POTFF staff to identify opportunities and methods for capturing data relating to POTFF programs and initiatives

  • Prepare reports and presentations that accurately convey data trends and associated analysis

  • Enter and analyze data in government systems

Experience and Skills

  • Possess an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in quantitative science, social science or related discipline

  • Minimum of three years of research experience in an academic, social services, government, healthcare or laboratory setting

  • Proficient with the suite of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Access

  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency with commonly used statistical software application such as SPSS, SAS, and R

  • Prior experience contributing to scientific publications

  • Possess excellent communication skills and shall be highly detail oriented and organized

Bragg, North Carolina's Army/ Military Installation. The data anayst will coordinate activities associated with clinical trials in the area of TBI and provides assurance of accurate documentation in compliance with all governing regulations. S/he serves as a liaison for collaborating between institutions, human subjects review boards, and commercial partners. Primary Responsibilities: * Coordinates activities associated with clinical trials in the area of TBI to include but not limited to: protocol development, operational procedures and forms development, assistance in study implementation, data analysis, and technical reporting. * Provides assurance of accurate documentation in compliance with all governing regulations. * Serves as a liaison for collaborating institutions, human subjects review boards, and commercial partners. * Provides guidance or assistance on participant screening, consent, data collection and storage. * Ensures regulatory files are complete. * Prepares documents reporting statistical analysis and descriptive data to be used in research reports. * Manages and analyzes data generated from clinical investigational and research studies. * Develop databases or modify existing databases to create datasets for analysis * Provides critical analysis of study results to assist in interpretation and decision making. * Assist in the development of reports or manuscripts. Qualifications: * 2+ years of related experience in scientific research and analysis. * Knowledge of standard qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques required. * Familiarity with social science research methodology is required. * Excellent communication skills, basic clinical acumen, possesses organizational, writing and analytical skills and proficiency in research conduct are required. * Ability to follow detailed instructions; work in a team required. * S/he must adhere to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy. * US Citizenship is required for this position with the ability to obtain a T3 security investigation.
