Knowesis is looking for personnel to support the United States Special Operations Command Preservation of the Force and Family (USSOCOM POTFF) program in identifying and implementing innovative, valuable solutions across the Special Operations Forces (SOF) enterprise aimed at improving the short and long-term well-being of SOF warriors and their families.

  • This position is contingent upon contract award.*

Operating in consultation with POTFF program staff and the Government's POTFF biostatistician, the Data Scientist will:

  • Enter, clean, and conduct basic data manipulation and analysis

  • Build and disseminate databases and spreadsheets designed to record POTFF related programmatic data

  • Provide consultation and assistance to supported units and POTFF staff to identify opportunities and methods for capturing data relating to POTFF programs and initiatives

  • Prepare reports and presentations that accurately convey data trends and associated analysis

  • Enter and analyze data within government systems

Experience and Skills

  • Possess an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Bachelor's Degree in quantitative science, social science or related discipline

  • Proficient with the suite of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Access

  • Prior experience using statistical software application such as SPSS, SAS, and R

  • Possess excellent communication skills and shall be highly detail oriented and

Description: Enter data into multiple databases or spreadsheets. Ensure consistency and appropriate cross-referencing for both newly entered and previously entered data. Retrieve data and use data to respond to a variety of customer and vendor inquiries. Perform research to determine reasons for patterns of transaction errors and failures. Conduct extensive searches for information pertaining to complex and/or unusual supply transactions and patterns; assemble retrieved information into different formats to meet different requirements; for example, status reports, unmet customer needs, and other similar areas. Maintain files in accordance with applicable Army, Navy, and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations. Process RX to the unit assigned. Maintain clothing & equipment records for equipment issued to individuals. Review and maintain all individual unit records for equipment. Establish accurate accountability of all SPEAR equipment currently on-hand Identify all equipment shortages and recognizing/understanding needs. Order products which meet unit specifications and required capabilities. Package assets in compliance with specific support requirements. Process all designated personnel by sizing, inputting, and ordering their SPEAR equipment. Receive all inbound equipment for assigned units at the Contractor work site. Sign for, inventory, storing, issue, and input completed transactions on all received equipment. Operate a direct exchange for any unserviceable equipment turned in by a Soldier. Out-process Soldiers leaving the unit. Provide weekly updates to servicing unit. Prepare, inventory, catalog, package, turn-in, and ship assets to required locations using Government and commercial transportation sources. Process the required documentation through the unit Property Book Officer, Spear 2.0, and validating against the tracking registers. Assist the Government with a variety of administrative tasks such as the preparation of reports and maintenance of records. Perform other duties to include, but not limited to, physical inventories, preparation of reports, and maintenance of records (the operation of various types of vehicles, material handling and cleaning of equipment.Attachments 1391 Temp Labor Mandatory: Possess a mastery of multiple logistics disciplines, including but not limited to Logistics Management and Inventory Management. Have a thorough understanding of CIF operations; Be proficient in the use of the Standard Army Management Information Systems (STAMIS), Global Combat Support System – Army (GCSS-A), and related Logistics Acquisition and Sustainment programs; Be physically able to lift weights of up to forty (40) pounds and carrying the weight for up to thirty (30) feet unassisted; Be physically capable of significant physical exertion, kneeling, crouching, stooping and walking; Proficiently use MS Office application software to maintain data and submit reports of varying types and formats via internal management control databases, spreadsheets, and other reporting tools in a variety of program application software.
