Position Description:

CGI is actively seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team and play a crucial role in advancing our Data Science and AI/ML initiatives within product development. The ideal candidate will be at the forefront of cutting-edge technologies such as Generative AI and other emerging tech, harnessing the power of large datasets to uncover opportunities for product and process optimization. This individual will utilize sophisticated models to evaluate the effectiveness of various strategies, demonstrating proficiency in data mining and analysis techniques, leveraging a diverse set of data tools, constructing and deploying models, designing algorithms, and conducting simulations.

This positions preferred location is Lafayette, LA, Lebanon, VA, Belton, TX, Knoxville, TN or Fairfax, VA; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Due to the nature of this government contract, US Citizenship is required.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Automate feature engineering, model training, and evaluation process.

  • Monitor, optimize, and maintain ML solutions.

  • Designing, developing, and researching Machine Learning systems and models.

  • Training and retraining ML systems and models.

  • Develop solutions leveraging cloud native platforms and data analytic technologies including but not limited to VPCs, IAM, Lambda, Sagemaker, S3 or Azure equivalent.

  • Identifying differences in data that could affect model performance in real-world situations.

  • Design, develop & maintain ETLs to extract, transform and load the data into existing data warehouses.

  • Verifying data quality and/or ensuring it via data cleaning for accuracy and completeness.

  • Performing statistical analysis and using results to improve the models.

  • Develop production level dashboards to display trends, KPIs, and machine learning predictions.

  • Analyze complex datasets, detect trends and patterns, develop conclusions, and provide recommendations.

  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and encouraging data-driven decision making across the organization.

  • Translate business needs and vision into roadmap, project deliverables & organization strategy.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology Management or other STEM related discipline.

  • High comfort level with AI/GenAI products.

  • Experience with AWS - data and analytics technologies including but not limited to Glue, Athena, Lambda, S3, IAM.

  • Strong understanding of SQL and ETL tools with experience in relational databases.

  • Ability in managing large complex projects involving diverse datasets.

  • Programming experience in Python with 3+ years experience.

  • Cloud experience, such as Azure, AWS or GCP

  • Adept at picking up new tools and technologies.

  • Excellent technology communication and thought leadership skill.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Work experience in applied machine learning / data science

  • Work experience in Data related field.

  • Strong communication and team working skills.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a strong development background.

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology Management or related technical field.

  • Proven ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a timeline driven environment.

  • MLOps knowledge and experience is highly appreciated.

  • Strong know-how in deep learning frameworks like Pytorch or Tensorflow

  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

  • Experience in full stack development definite plus

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $110,000.00 - $240,600.00.
