How you'll contribute

The Data Science Manager is responsible for gathering and analyzing data from multiple sources to solve and address complex business problems. Evaluate scenarios to make predictions on future outcomes and provide solutions/recommendations that support decision making. Conduct advanced analytics leveraging predictive modeling, machine learning, data mining and data visualization. Design and build impactful Tableau reports and dashboards. This individual must be self-motivated and resourceful, possessing the ability to apply theoretical concepts to achieve concrete, transparent, and statistically supported recommendations. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for the application of data science to real-world problems.

  • Build pragmatic, scalable, and statistically rigorous solutions by leveraging or developing state-of-the-art statistical and machine learning methodologies.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders on projects to identify and articulate opportunities, see beyond the data to identify solutions that will raise the bar for decision making.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to access and manipulate data, explain data gathering requirements, make recommendations, display results, and build efficient and scalable analytics solutions.

  • Define, compute, track, and continuously validate business metrics with descriptive and predictive analytics.

  • Architect, build and maintain data driven machine learning models, experiments, forecasting algorithms, and optimization models.

  • Utilize Tableau to design, develop, enhance, and support Tableau visualizations including highly interactive dashboards, scorecards, and reports with drill down to detail and analysis pathways to other supporting reports. Manage extracts and refresh schedules on Tableau Server.

  • All other duties as required.

For this role you will need

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Data Analytics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science and 7+ years in the field of analytics, or

  • Master's degree (MA/MS/MBA) in Data Analytics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science and 5+ years in the field of analytics

  • Experience with Machine Learning, Statistics, or other data analysis tools and techniques

  • Experience in building models and developing algorithms for machine learning, statistics, mathematical programming, and simulation in industry and/or academia

  • Experience with statistical methods such as forecasting, time series, hypothesis testing, classification, clustering, or regression analysis

  • Experience in managing and analyzing medium to large-scale structured and unstructured data

  • Experience with scientific computing and analysis packages, such as Pandas

  • Experience with machine learning libraries and packages such as TensorFlow, Keras, or Theano

  • Experience with data visualization libraries such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly

  • Experience working with Relational Databases (SQL Server), Data Lakes, Azure

  • Experience drafting testable code and migrating to production

  • Strong programming skills in SQL and Python

  • Expertise in working with Tableau products (Desktop, Server, Reader, App)

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision

The work you'll do as a Data Science Manager: * Work with Retail, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Financial Services organizations to understand business requirements to develop analytical models using techniques such as optimization, statistics and machine learning models to achieve business growth and efficiencies utilizing Big Data and Analytics * Analytics lead on client projects, responsible for leading data science application development.
