DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with the digital technical team to enable the deployment and sustainability of an Artificial Intelligence Practice at Ascend and support business teams with insights gained from analyzing company data. Use large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and use models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action.

Use a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, utilize a variety of data tools, building, and implementing models, using/creating algorithms, and creating/running simulations. Drive business results with their data-based insights. Work with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams.

Discover solutions hidden in large data sets and work with stakeholders to improve business outcomes. Work on modernization of AI tools &/ solutions. Establish and lead the continuous improvement and sustainability of the AI tools &/ solutions.

Work with both in-house and 3rd party Data Scientists. Work with 3rd party AI solution providers. Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.

Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies. Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques. Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.

Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes.

Develop company A/B testing framework and test model quality. Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.

Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy. Use statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets. Work with and creating data architectures.

Work with a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks. Utilize advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and applications. Work with C, C++, Java, Microsoft Azure AI/ML, Amazon AI.

Work with statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.

Work with querying databases and using statistical computer languages:

R, Python, SLQ, etc. Use web services: Redshift, S3, Spark, DigitalOcean, etc.

Create and use advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc. Analyze data from 3rd party providers: Google Analytics, Site Catalyst, Coremetrics, Adwords, Crimson Hexagon, Facebook Insights, etc.

Work with distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Gurobi, MySQL, etc. Visualize/present data for stakeholders using: Microsoft Power BI, Periscope, Business Objects, D3, ggplot, etc.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Education: Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering.

  • Minimum Experience: 2 years of process engineering experience in a chemical or petrochemical environment; with at least 2 years of experience using timeseries tools such as SEEQ, natural language processing (NLP), building predictive maintenance machine learning productions and taking them to production, building machine learning solutions with cloud tools (AWS, Azure, Google cloud), and knowledge of applying overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) calculations.
