Job Description

Harford Community College is seeking qualified adjunct faculty members to teach on-campus and/or remote synchronous classes in Data Science, including Introduction to Data Science, Introductory Statistics with Programming Applications, Database Management and Database Systems, and Data Visualization.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. Work is generally performed on the College campus unless otherwise specified.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorship for this position.

Required Education

A Master's degree in the subject or a closely-related subject.

Required Experience

Prior experience using a Learning Management System (LMS). Prior experience with classroom technology.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Successful applicants will have skills in R for statistics, database fundamentals and/or data visualization skills utilizing Tableau or Microsoft Power BI or similar. Ability to articulate and teach the importance of ethics in data science is also desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior teaching experience preferred. Professional experience in the discipline a plus.
