Data Research Assistant

Part-Time Shift(s): Monday-Friday Between 7am-6pm, Flexible
Working as a Part-Time Data Research Assistant, you will leverage statistical and research methodologies to help in solving business issues. You will assist in research studies, conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of research data, analyze and assess business performance, and identify actionable insights and courses of action based on an informed understanding of internal and external data.
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
oAssisting analysts to provide answers to business questions and information to reduce decision making uncertainty
oUsing data mining, marketing research techniques, and analytics to quantify relationships between internal and external factors on business outcomes, identify and profile market and customer segments, and predict employee and customer behaviors
oAssisting in mining a repository of internal and external data to create reports that summarize key performance metrics and address strategic questions
oOrganizing primary and secondary research datasets for analysis.
oParticipating in analytics projects and predictive modeling based on varying sources of available customer and sales data. These projects will provide understanding in areas such as Market Basket, Location Effectiveness, Customer Segmentation, In-Branch Experience, Employee Performance, Product Mix, and Inventory Effectiveness
oAssisting in research to determine the "why" behind the numbers and to generate hypotheses for growth
oReviewing and summarizing large amounts of data while maintaining a high level of accuracy
oApplying techniques such as linear and logistic regression, decision trees, multivariate analysis, segmentation analysis, and time series modeling
oGaining expertise on multiple analytical tools and leveraging them to optimize speed and quality of project deliverables
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o Possess or are working towards a major/minor in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analysis, Operations Research, Business, Marketing, Management, Data Science or an equivalent degree
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
o Exhibit strong analytical and problem solving skills
o Demonstrate strong attention to detail and data accuracy across large datasets
o Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
o Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information
o Highly motivated and self directed
o Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

o Ability to pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY)
PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Experience with analytical and statistical software packages such as R, SAS, SPSS, JMP or similar software.
