Leidos is seeking a Data Replication Specialist to be part of the mission solution and help lead SSA's Digital Modernization Strategy.   • Be a key resource for replication to enhance the digital modernization efforts for our customer.

  • Impact functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards, or operational plans that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace.

  • Attend all customer technical discussions/design/development meetings and provide technical inputs to further enhance the quality/process.

  • Provide guidance/support/training to other junior/mid-level staff.

  • All other duties as assigned or directed.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field and 4+ years of experience. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree

  • Master's or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

  • Excellent Communication skills.

All candidates must reside within two (2) hours of SSA Headquarters in Woodlawn, MD & must be willing to work on-site at least 2 days a week.

FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE (Required Skills)

These skills will help you succeed in this position:

  • Demonstrated experience in log-based Replication technology.

  • Demonstrated experience with IIDR and CDC.

  • Experience in acquiring and replicating data from various legacy and distributed databases including flat file replication.

  • Demonstrated Experience in replicating data from DB2 z/OS, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.

  • Experience in the installation, configuration, upgrades, and day to day operation of replication technology.

  • Experience in the data transformation efforts from legacy to new and alternative technologies.

  • Hands on experience working on Linux environment and strong scripting experience in shell scripting.

  • Experience in automating replication tasks and processes using batch or bash scripting.

  • Provide 24x7 on-call rotation and weekend work as needed.

  • Strong understanding of source control systems.

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:

  • Working with Git and Bitbucket for source control.

  • Strong experience with Python.

  • Experience working with DB2 mainframe database.

  • Experience working with PostgreSQL database and logical replication.

  • Working knowledge of Ansible and Ansible best practices.

  • AWS hands-on experience.

  • Experience administering cloud solutions.

  • Experience working on Agile projects and understanding Agile terminology.

  • Experience with Kafka.

  • Experience with Ansible development.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
