JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Opportunity to be part of Test Engineering team who are responsible for supporting engine planning, assembly and test. This position is within Planning and Test Support group looking to add high energetic individual to help customer in engine test world at Arnold Engineering Development Center in Manchester, Tennessee. Some of the job duties includes:
Provide operational support for a wide variety of data acquisition and instrumentation systems in support of gas turbine engine and rig testing at various test facilities.
This individual will be expected to perform daily setup and calibrations, coordinate lab personnel activity, and report any system or data anomalies.
He/She will assist with generating new and/or modifying old procedures to reflect any operation changes.
Position requires a high degree of interaction with both hourly and salary personnel so excellent communication skills are a must.
This position often requires off-shift and long hours of coverage depending on engine test schedules.
Candidate must have a good understanding of data acquisition and computer based data collection systems; as well as experience with variety of instrumentation, and some measurement and testing experience.
Operations background with some electronics/electrical experience a plus.
Knowledge of SAP, TPACS, CDS (Control Data system) and ICADs is a plus.
Proficient using computers and willingness to learn new skills.
Good time management, organizational and professional communication skills
Familiarity with Aerospace and Jet Engines is a plus
Willingness and ability to work in a team composed of hourly technicians and engineers.
US citizenship required
Associates of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
College degree preferred or equivalent experience will be considered.
Travel Requirements 10%
Shift Primarily 2nd shift or 3rd shift. The candidate must be flexible to work any shifts depending on the schedule need. This position also requires to often support over the weekends and long hours.
