Job Title: Data Privacy Program Manager

This candidate will be responsible for supporting and managing the Global Privacy Program and should have prior exposure to global privacy and data protection laws and regulations, fair information practices and core privacy and data protection principles, direct marketing techniques, workplace monitoring, financial privacy requirements, online privacy, and information security.


Oversee and be the first escalation point for data protection queries, data subject rights requests, data protection impact assessments, and data mapping.

Work cross-functionally within Slalom to manage data privacy and related compliance projects, processes, and technologies. Ability to build relationships with the various departments and to strategically input privacy into current and/or future state operations. Surface technical and scope trade-offs required to allow for informed decisions.

Work with the Slalom Legal Team and the business to raise awareness of data protection best practices, drive compliance to privacy regulations, and ensure that stakeholders are incorporating privacy protection into their ongoing ways of working and decision making.

Work with the Slalom Legal Team to collaborate with and assist business units to develop corrective action plans for identified privacy compliance issues.

Work cross-functionally within Slalom to develop continuous improvements to privacy program.

Evaluate the impact, and monitor the performance and effectiveness of, data protection assessments; undertake other privacy and data protection-related investigations where necessary.

Inventory, review, and continually update data sources, data flows, and data processing activities.

Write and update data protection documentation and guidelines; document processes and process amendments as required by regulations.

Coordinate and participate in the development of guidance as well as training and awareness materials for relevant business functions involved in the processing of personal data.

Participate in new business initiatives and product development activities to identify and escalate privacy considerations.

Provide regular program status reports and metrics to stakeholders.

Participate in external data privacy-related organizations to share and collaborate on best practices.

Conduct privacy impact assessments to assess and mitigate risks related to processing, transmission and storage of PII data specific privacy-related requirements and potential vulnerabilities, including managing the privacy impact assessment process.

Be willing and able to be a self-starter who can work independently, while managing multiple priorities.


Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in data privacy program development and management

International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Certification - CIPP, CIPM or CIPT

Ability to work with key business and technology stakeholders to develop and implement solutions to ensure that appropriate data privacy standards and practices are in place

Evidence of strong data privacy program or project management skillset with working experience to manage concurrent initiatives

Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate the complexity of business processes, and build/develop practical communications plans based upon those needs

Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical requirements

Demonstrated knowledge and work experience in data protection and adherence to privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA

Experience with OneTrust Tool

Prior data privacy-related consulting experience

Excellent communication (verbal and written), facilitation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels of the organization, ranging from detailed product documentation for engineering to executive level presentation skills to developing sales training materials

A hands-on privacy practitioner with the ability to shift between operational and strategic mindsets

Highly motivated self-started with the ability to work collaboratively and independently

Demonstrated ability to navigate unstructured processes and to simultaneously manage responsibilities of multiple/concurrent work streams and competing demands

Demonstrated competency in thinking strategically, analytically, conceptually, and innovatively, including the ability to synthesize and analyze data

We focus on burning down data technical debt, and identifying gaps in our data protection strategy through testing and exploit development. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers who are working to keep Twitter reliable, scalable, and secure. Who You Are * You have 5+ years of software development experience in a highly customer-focused environment. * You have 2+ years experience successfully managing a team of 5-8 engineers on large-scale projects that included the areas of: distributed systems, application security, data protection, measurement and monitoring. * You have a proven track record of managing geographically distributed teams, ensuring all members are well integrated. * You possess strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate teams. * You will bring a strong perspective and collaborative partnership that drives change, and motivates engineers to develop simple solutions to complex operational or reliability challenges. * You have experience formulating a team's technical strategy and roadmap, and you've collaborated and partnered effectively with several other teams. * You can provide a strong technical vision for systems and infrastructure teams. * You have experience building services and systems, have successfully taken projects from inception to production, and are comfortable diving in to provide leadership for major projects when needed. * You are capable of leading a discussion with upper management, and are able to tailor the level of technical detail to suit your audience. * B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
