Summary -

The Data Processing Specialist is responsible for continual maintenance in UniFirst's item master as well as coordinating non-stock inventory orders on behalf of UniFirst locations.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Materials Management, the Data Processing Specialist role requires considerable time management and organization skills, and the ability to adjust priorities dynamically in a fast-paced environment. This role works effectively with multiple corporate functions and field service locations.

Responsibilities -

  • Responsible for processing item master additions, deletions, and modifications, including accumulating and storing all required supplementary information

  • Maintain accurate records pertaining to all New Product Requests

  • Ensure upkeep and accuracy for UniFirst's vendor files, including price lists

  • Provides regular updates to corporate functions and field locations regarding item master updates

  • Facilitate Purchase Order placement for fabric and merchandise items upon request

  • Audits and processes non-stock inventory requests from field service locations

  • Solve any issues regarding the data in the system

  • Engage in special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Experience -
1-2 years of experience with Data entry and/or Excel

Education -

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Additional Requirements -

  • Excellent Excel skills, and proficiency with other Microsoft Office programs

  • Ability to maintain confidential information

  • Excellent organizational skills a must

  • Ability to work in a team setting in a dynamic environment

The following are responsibilities related to the Senior Business Systems Analyst / Data Analyst: * Engage Business Stakeholders at all levels to identify requirements for current and future products through ongoing interaction * Data Profiling, mining, and data validation to ensure data is fit for use by the business * Ability to see big picture and then identify key areas for deep analysis to support sound solutions * Perform ad-hoc analysis and present results in a clear and user-friendly manner * Perform testing, resolve issues and work with developers to automate testing/data validation * Lead requirements workshops and User Acceptance Testing for new data and analytics solutions * Build strong business relationships that foster a collaborative and trusting approach and partnership Job Requirements The following are minimum requirements related to the Senior Business Systems Analyst / Data Analyst position: * BS/BA degree in Business Management, Computer Science (or related field), MBA Preferred * 5+ years of experience in writing SQL queries, data mining, data profiling, and data validation/testing * 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst / Data Analyst specializing in the Data & Analytics discipline * 5+ years of experience organizing and running User Acceptance Testing cycles and training with business users and stakeholders * 3+ years of experience with Data Governance processes to ensure consistent implementations of data sets, terminology and reporting structures for optimal data integrity * 3+ years of experience with Data Visualizations tools such as Power BI, SSRS, or Tableau * 1+ year of experience supporting users with OLAP solutions in SSAS (MDX or DAX) * Ability to translate requirements to well-written user stories to bridge the gap between business and technology * Strong business mindset with ability to collaborate with business partners to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery The following are strongly desired: * Agile experience particularly as Certified Scrum Master or Product Owner * Willingness to help mature Agile practices for the team and lead some ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives, and backlog grooming * Experience in Life Sciences industry with data and analytics solutions * Experience with products using Advanced Analytics, ML, or AI capabilities About Corporate Functions The Corporate Functions provide operational support across Charles River in areas such as Human Resources, Finance, IT, Legal, Sales, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Corporate Development.
