Data Management and Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. The Wholesale Data Office team delivers trusted, reliable data which drives strategic decisions, enables business growth, and facilitates a strong risk discipline. We enable usage of common data that is complete, trusted, understood, and aligned with our financial reporting.

This position will be supporting our iHub service with the Business Data services team. iHub is an authorized provisioning point for wholesale credit data which standardizes common foundational data and distributes to downstream applications and reporting services. The position will support a number of iHub workstreams tied to risk, regulatory and internal business line initiatives primarily focusing on loan and leasing data supporting wholesale credit data needs.

The Data Management Senior Consultant/ Lead Business Analyst will utilize strong data management skills, Wholesale business background knowledge, strategic thought leadership and experience leading project workstreams. The senior consultant is expected to be able to see and understand a problem quickly and determine the solution either independently or by working with other team members, autonomously figuring out the next step, leveraging critical thinking to problem solve and influencing thru thorough analysis and confident communication. This data management senior consultant will lead and be a true liaison to business and technical groups.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Problem solve, to see and understand a problem quickly and determine the solution either independently or by working with other team members.

  • Work with minimal guidance/supervision and have the ability to figure out the next step independently

  • Utilize critical thinking to work on several problems at one time

  • Influence thru thorough analysis and confident presentation of summarized analysis and proposed solutions to senior management

  • Work with the business to understand the business and the business' data to assist other iHub BAs with mapping the data into the iHub data conformed data model.

  • Understand wholesale credit data, wholesale credit businesses and wholesale credit systems of record (e.g. AFS, LIQ, Lucas, Infolease etc.)

  • Participate in the data governance process and provide guidance for mapping standards for the iHub team.

  • Assist with iHub product design and execution.

  • Interact with business and technology partners across Wholesale such as Risk, Finance, Lines of Business, and Systems of Record owners

  • Interact with iHub consumers to understand their requirements, provide a solution which may be in the form of a query or guidance on how to understand the iHub conformed data model

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis
  • 3+ years of wholesale banking experience
  • 3+ years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools
  • 3+ years of leadership experience

  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner

  • Management experience in an matrixed organization environment

  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members

  • Knowledge and understanding of data governance challenges and approaches: metadata, data quality, and data stewardship

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis

  • Ability to translate business needs into complex analysis, designs and recommendations. Uses analysis to identify and define business requirements, while supporting the validity of the final product.

  • Ability to identify customer needs and obstacles and take the necessary steps to problem solve

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with data problems to solve and come up with innovative ideas and make things happen without management direction.

  • Knowledge and understanding of wholesale banking: products, platforms, policies, processes, and procedures

  • Experience with database platforms such as Oracle, Hadoop, or Teradata.

  • Techno-functional skills with exposure to various banking products

  • Ability to manipulate data from non-normalized or disparate data sources

  • Clear understanding of data warehousing principles, dimensional data and data modeling

  • Preferably experience with Oracle Financial Services Data Foundation(FSDF) implementation

  • Knowledge and understanding of wholesale banking products and attributes

  • Knowledge and understanding of wholesale banking platforms and various SORs (e.g. AFS, LIQ, Infolease, Strategy, Lucas)

Salary Information

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.

The Data Ecosystem is responsible for horizontal governance of over $500 million of annual investments in data across all Wells Fargo lines of business. The Data Ecosystem support team facilitates business case review for data investment opportunities to ensure alignment with the Enterprise Data Strategy and data investment priorities and to identify synergies across data capabilities and technologies. We work closely with Group Portfolio Delivery teams, the Data Management & Insights organization, the Enterprise Investment Optimization (IO) team, and other Ecosystems in analyzing investments and providing ongoing oversight of funded investments. Data Ecosystem IO Initiatives Lead responsibilities: * Will support the Data Ecosystem interactions with Investment Optimization (IO) * Will develop relationships and collaborate with stakeholders in Data Management & Insights and Data Ecosystem leadership to set the vision and strategic direction for the Data Ecosystem portfolio * Ensures Data Ecosystem adheres to appropriate policies Key Skills/Tasks: * Collaborate with others to gather information, synthesize, and prepare Data Ecosystem materials for Investment Optimization meetings (e.g., quarterly IO Sponsor updates, Ecosystem road shows, etc.). * Represent Data Ecosystem interests in Enterprise Portfolio Delivery, Group Portfolio Delivery and IO working groups to provide input on changes impacting the broader organization. * Serve as Data Ecosystem support liaison to other Ecosystems. * Coordinate IO multi-year planning deliverables for the Data Ecosystem. * Help lead the development of ecosystem processes to identify, track, and prioritize projects. * Help lead the development of strategy alignment in the Data Ecosystem, including alignment with corporate priorities. * Comfortable speaking with and presenting to senior leaders. * Develop relationships and collaborate with partners throughout the enterprise. * Can work with a team and individually, with the ability to be a self-starter who can figure out the most effective way forward.
