The Firm wide Data Management Office Party Reference Data team manages and maintains reference data to ensure that our customers, employees, and lines of business are in adherence with firm standards and required regulations.

The Internal Party Reference Data team supports the compliance, and management and maintenance reference data to ensure that our customers, employees, and lines of business are in adherence with firm standards and required regulations.

GEMS is JPMC's strategic solution for legal entity (LE) maintenance and reporting. It will also provide support for various LE-based attestations: financial, legal, and regulatory. It will support external disclosure through the FR-Y9 and other regulatory reports generated by the Office of the Secretary. It will support the legal entity rationalization (LER) and Recovery and Resolution (R&R) programs at JPMC.

The GEMS and Request Management System (RMS) project team is responsible for managing projects and initiatives, in the capacity of providing expert oversight as Subject matter experts in each delivery. The team is responsible for ensuring that all project changes are understood, tested and communicated to the impacted teams.

Job Description:

As a Product Owner of the Agile team, you will be supporting the implementation of GEMS and RMS projects related to Product Enhancements, Production Fixes, Operational Releases, Data Integrity, Platform conversions and Regulatory reporting. This role will primarily focus on capturing requirements from stakeholders, creation of JIRA stories, planning and prioritizing stories in sprints and managing testing. The role will also requires additional Project Management activities like tracking, monitoring, leadership, management and/or participation of the full agile project life cycle (Requirements, SIT/UAT and Implementation) for each project, providing updates to the project teams on the status of the testing activities, as well as writing and executing test scripts. The role will include working the subject matter experts to confirm requirements and to provide feedback on potential impacts as well as the coordination of training & communications between the project and operations teams.

Collaborative partnership with the impacted technology, finance, legal and operations teams will be essential to ensure the success of each project, ensuring completeness of business requirements, clear understanding of operational impacts and resolution of operational issues related to the requirements raised.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Function as an Independent 'Product Owner' who owns deliverables from the BOW (Book of Work) to analyze Requirements, raise clarifications with Stakeholders and create Atomic JIRAs for technology to deliver.

  • Function as a Stakeholder-facing PO who can synthesize the requirements, drive the analysis with appropriate questions supported by workflow documents, scenario analysis and wireframes (as needed).

  • Prioritize stories based on epics, manage them in backlog and ensure development focuses on JIRAs with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy

  • Assess the value of JIRAs per Sprint and develop Use-Cases Documents, Wireframes and provide Sample data sheets on JIRAs on case by case basis.

  • Partner with other Product Owners across different teams and LOBs to ensure project is delivered on schedule, within budget and within scope.

  • Proactively lead and deliver on each Sprint throughout the agile lifecycle of a project.

  • Growing into an SME who can provide clear direction and vision to the Technology partners, Testing Teams and Stakeholders throughout the Agile Development Lifecycle.

  • Track defects, perform root cause analysis and identify the means to resolving them.

  • Plan and prioritize Product JIRA backlog and define product vision, road-map and synergies.

  • Assist in the planning of Implementation Plan per Agile release and identify the set of activities/task that need to perform on the Release date.

  • Conduct significant data mining and data analysis to support recommendations on necessary action items.

  • Diagnose and facilitate resolution of key issues and risks within the project, ensure operational and business change readiness.

  • Support end to end User Acceptance Testing process and conduct overall project evaluations/quality control.

  • Support management of projects on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress and quality, managing the issue resolutions process and taking corrective action or escalating the issue when appropriate.

  • Develop, track, analyze, and publish project reports, project summaries, scorecards and program/project performance trends.

  • Combine knowledge of what the business wants with knowledge of how the systems are built and create a business proposition across cross functional areas.

  • Assist clients with GEMS and RMS process and content, develop and execute test plans / test scripts, assist in managing the overall project governance.

  • Support project management reporting deliverables; OPTIC, governance decks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience with in a financial services organization, exposure to any Regulatory or compliance product is a Plus.

  • Plug-and-Play Product Owner who can create JIRAs, groom them with tech partners and supervise testing.

  • Prior Project Managements and test management experience would be helpful.

  • Working knowledge of ALM, Quality Center, MS Excel (Pivot tables, v-lookups) and PowerPoint, MS Visio and Microsoft Access and Microsoft Project required. Bachelor's degree is required.

  • Knowledge of database systems (e.g. MS SQL Server 2000, Oracle, Toad) and database concepts ( Optional)

  • Operations or technology experience, a plus

The organization's objectives are to explain the path that critical data follows, improve data quality, reduce ambiguity and inconsistent terminology, enhance transparency, rationalize the number of replicated data assets, and improve firmwide-sharing of information and best practices. To achieve all of this, FDM serves as the governing body to create firmwide standards that drive consistent data management practices, develop technologies and processes to support data management processes, partner with LOBs to embed data management best practices and capabilities, and ensure sustainability by refining, measuring, and improving the firm's ability to manage data. * Description of Role, Functions and Activities: One of the top priorities across the FDM at JPMorgan Chase is to help the firm move toward a more integrated data management strategy. The mandate of the Reference Data arm is to manage reference data across the enterprise, establish firm-wide reference data governance processes and quality standards, manage all reference data operations teams, and partner with the lines of business to drive alignment to firm-wide reference data standards. Our businesses and corporate groups rely on reference data to facilitate and execute transactions, support our clients, identify potential risks, and meet regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will join the Financial Reference Data Adoption team focused on adoption of Strategic Financial Reference Data by eliminating reliance on Legacy datasets, Constructs, Mapper/Wrappers etc. and consumers of financial reference data are plugged into the System of Record (RefODS) or an Authoritative Data Source (ADS) for sourcing and validating the data. Financial Reference Data Adoption team will focus on strong partnerships with other global functional support areas including technology, business support management, product business managers, credit risk and various operational support teams. An ability to develop an effective working relationships with partners, stakeholders, and senior management is critical; this role interacts with the leads across the Financial Reference Data, Chief Data Office, Reference Data Strategy and FDM organizations.
