As a Data & Analytics professional at Magenic, you'll use the latest versions of relational and non-relational platforms to build massive scale enterprise systems. You'll learn industry best practices and approaches to data modeling. You'll extend traditional data warehouse architectures through cloud data services. And you'll use cutting edge data visualization tools to provide compelling reporting every step of the way.

The Requirements

  • 4+ years of Microsoft Database Development / Business Intelligence experience

  • 8+ years development experience on full-life cycle projects

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Demonstrable skills in data modeling, database design, and system architecture with a focus on building secure applications at enterprise scale

  • Substantial experience with RDMS development, testing and deployment, with a particular focus on SQL Server 2008 R2 - 2016

  • Expertise with T-SQL and familiarity with SQL variants

  • Substantial experience with Analysis Services development, testing and deployment, with a particular focus on SQL Server Analysis Services (Tabular) and DAX

  • Substantial experience with front-end reporting and dashboard development tools, e.g. SSRS, Cognos, Business Objects, MicroStrategy, or other

  • Working knowledge and/or experience with Power BI (Power BI Online, Power BI Desktop) and related tools

  • Working knowledge and/or understanding of Azure-based tools and services that support data storage, e.g. Azure SQL, Blob and Table Storage

  • A strong curiosity about our clients business needs coupled with a passion to stay on the cutting edge of data and analytics tools and techniques

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a high-level of comfort explaining complex technical topics to business clients

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing Data Warehouse architecture on the Azure cloud platform

  • Expertise designing and deploying Data Lake solutions

  • Architecture of SSAS Cube Reporting Solutions

  • Able to influence senior management, peers and staff through an inclusive style and recognition of their abilities to achieve results

  • Demonstrated track record of successful ability to manage large and complex consulting engagements, including a role in managing and interfacing with senior level client executives

  • Management consulting, advisory, professional services and/or Big 4 consulting experience

  • Experience with other non-Microsoft data visualization tools, e.g. Tableau, QlikView, Spotfire or other

  • Working knowledge and/or understanding of Azure-based tools and services that support analysis, mining and reporting, e.g. Analysis Services (PaaS), Azure SQL Data Warehouse, HDInsight, Data Lake Analytics, Stream Analytics, Cognitive Services, etc.

  • Working knowledge of data services offerings on other Cloud platforms, e.g. Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, etc.

  • Experience with custom application development using .NET, Java, JavaScript and/or related technologies and frameworks

This candidatewill influence an integral part of a major initiative to enable the US GasBusiness by improving how our employees serve our customers today and bycreating the platform for tomorrow's growth. This is an integral role for thisenablement program to deliver changes across people, process, systems andtechnology. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): * Model and design Salesforce solutionsincluding application structure and storage in collaboration with Solution andTechnical Architects. * Work with product owners,architects and application designers to define the data requirements, structurefor the application, source-to-target mappings and the integration solutiondesign. * Ensure database designs fulfillthe requirements, including data volume, performance and long-term data growth. * Assist in determining thecross-application data standards, data distribution standards and promotedata-driven design. * Evaluate database deliverables throughout developmentto ensure quality and traceability to requirements and adherence to all qualitymanagement plans and standards. * Work with other architects to ensure that allcomponents work together to meet objectives and performance goals as defined inthe requirements. Identify and communicate any cross-area or cross-releaseissues that may affect other areas of the project. * Participate in go-live preparationactivities such as QA, dress rehearsals, issue remediation, cutover and go-liveaftercare. * Participate in data managementmaturity assessments to identify gaps and pain points for capabilitiesincluding data quality, governance, analytics, metadata management, master datamanagement. * Seek opportunities for continuousimprovement in processes, procedures and systems with regards to data.
