Position Summary:

Title: Data Integration Architect

This position provides recommendations on business information that will need to be available and shared consistently across the organization through the identification, definition and analysis of how information assets aid strategies and business outcomes. The position is responsible for discovering the data and analytics requirements for information for all uses.


  • Partner with business unit leadership to provide strategic recommendations to maximize the value of information assets via their creation, access and use.

  • Ensure that the architecture is used as a filter to identify, prioritize and execute the data and analytic initiatives with clear line of sight to enterprise strategies and business outcomes.

  • Aggressively research and prototype various data integration and data management tools.

  • Lead efforts for standardizing, integrating and centralizing multi-system and multi-site data

  • Work with project consultants to vet data acquisition, integration, and analytics proposals.

  • Partner with key Division data integrators, data analysts, and data scientists.

  • Develop, and continuously improve, a standard set of data integration models and best practices.

  • Work with the various PCC divisions to build a PCC-wide map of key data assets.

  • Define and enable effective data and analytics governance.

  • Help support Corporate and Division data governance and master data initiatives.


  • B.S. degree required; Masters (MBA) preferred. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related study (or equivalent project-related experience).

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Integration, Data Quality, Data Architecture and Master Data Management, Project Life Cycle phases, best practices, and processes

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with ETL tools (preferable Cloud ETL)

  • Experience architecting and implementing data projects on Cloud

  • Thorough understanding of data and analytics services on Azure/AWS

  • Deep understanding of the latest product stack that supports Cloud and Big data

  • Some travel required

  • Proven problem-solving capability required. Excellent communication skills required.

  • Additional experience in Profisee, Azure, Microsoft PowerBI and Azure Databricks desirable

  • Additional experience in manufacturing and ERP systems desirable

Columbia Sportswear has recently migrated its enterprise data warehouse (EDW) to the Azure cloud data management stack. We are looking for a data architect to take us to the next level of our data warehouse and analytics initiatives. We are looking for an individual with clear understanding and significant experience in data modeling and semantic modeling methodologies, who maintains cohesiveness between the two, and who strives to implement them in his/her design approach. Responsibilities * Lead Data warehouse Dimensional Modeling efforts including defining the Data Model Design and Naming standards from the Database to the BI Layer to ensure consistency * Evaluation, adoption roadmap of new data warehouse and reporting technologies * Works closely with delivery teams including business SME's to deliver data warehousing solutions that are reliable, flexible, scalable, and provide low cost ownership. * Participate in the design, development, documentation and application of best practices and procedures that govern EDW implementations. * Provide technical mentoring, guidance, and training to EDW support and user teams throughout the organization. * Stay informed of current technologies and best practices. Qualifications: * 10+ years of experience in Analytics and Data Warehousing: Data modeling, database design and semantic/BI modeling. * Hands on experience in Data Warehouse technical development with strong understanding of data management life-cycle in establishing end-to-end data warehousing and business intelligence architecture. * Comprehensive knowledge of relational and dimensional data modeling practices and implementation techniques and where they are best utilized. * Experience with one of the Leading Business Intelligence Tools * Experience in cloud data warehousing preferred * Experience with a data modeling tool * Practical experience in a publicly traded multinational supply chain or manufacturing business with Sales & Distribution, Procurement, and Inventory Management scenarios.
