Position Overview/Description:

Ford Motor Company's Global Data, Insight, and Analytics (GDIA) organization is looking for a highly skilled Data Governance Supervisor. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest global subject matter experts that are transforming the automobile industry. Analyst will make recommendations for alternative ways to bring data to life to solve business problems. At times, the problem is identified by a business unit, frequently wishing to optimize cost, revenue, or improve quality, and at times problems are formulated by the Data Scientists. The role will be responsible for data governance with a focus on data security and related activities to ensure data is efficiently utilized as an enterprise asset.

The role of the Data Governance Supervisor is a critical enabler to the development of Ford's Enterprise Data Strategy including the Data Supply Chain (DSC). The supervisor will ensure Information Management activities fully support the business goals of GDI&A. The Data Governance Supervisor works closely with Data Operations & Infrastructure, Analytic Managers, IT Managers and other stakeholders to drive alignment and delivery of the Data Supply Chain (DSC) and deliver high quality data required to achieve business value. Provides thought and technology leadership in GDI&A for Data Governance and Data Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team within Data Governance supporting Information Management activities.

  • Provide thought leadership in Enterprise Data Management and Data Governance to support strategic data requirements, promote data reuse and data quality to deliver business value.

  • Lead and support creation of the Enterprise Data Model and a co.mmon business glossary.

  • Responsible for Informatica Data Management product suite, roadmap, enablement, implementation and maintenance.

  • Create, implement and maintain Reference Data Standards.

  • Lead knowledge and metadata management strategy and implementation.

  • Prepare and deliver training to GDI&A personnel globally data management practices and tools.

  • Utilize practices and tools to integrate with data security and protection tools ABAC/Ranger/Voltage.

  • Manage activities to support consistent Data Quality across all domains.

  • Communicate with IT partners - Enterprise and GDI&A.

  • Inform GDI&A management present/escalate/educate.

  • Develop team members, encourage both technical and data learnings.

  • Stay abreast of emerging data management trends and technologies.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Analytics, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related technical field
  • 8 + years of progressive responsibilities in data management
  • 4 + years of experience managing a team (direct reports)
  • 5 + years of experience in Data/Information Architecture

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree

  • Knowledge of data management standards, data governance practices and data quality metrics

  • Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills and ability to energize a team.

  • Ability to communicate findings to make data management actionable and understandable to team members, business partners, IT, analytic teams, etc.

  • Understanding of automotive or financial services data

The team is positioned to work across all areas in Ford Motor Company (e.g. Purchasing, Product Development, Ford Credit, Marketing & Sales, Manufacturing, Finance, etc.). The role of the Data Governance is to ensure data quality, data management, data policies and risk management around the handling of data at Ford are followed. The Data Governance analyst will ensure Ford's data is profiled to identify PII and other data attributes for security, understand content and opportunities to improve it with standards. The Data Governance analyst will work with various stakeholders to make recommendations to improve data quality, data standardization and data transformation. Responsibilities: Responsible for data usage/data management/data protection including: * Perform data profiling of sources to assess data quality and work on mitigation strategies and cleansing solutions * Populate Metadata content and associate terms in the Business Glossary to develop the Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog * Resolve and escalate data issues in the appropriate forums and work cross functionally to develop solutions * Collaborate with Data, Analytics and IT teams and guide them on data standards and the use of Informatica tools * Identify relationships in data to assist in providing insights * Establish repeatable, sustainable processes to maintain data and metadata * Understand company and regulatory guidelines regarding data privacy, usage and retention (PII, GDPR, SPII) * Create and deliver training and communications for new Informatica capability and Data Governance processes * Automate solutions to enable data protection for inter-related systems data and risks * Utilizing skills in Informatica Software: Data Quality, Profiling and Data Management tools, SQL and Data discovery techniques.
