Everest Insurance has an exciting opportunity for a Data Governance & Quality Specialist in the Liberty Corner, NJ office. This role will ensure the data capture requirements for operational business team members and/or by automated processes meets precise standards, such as business rules and data definitions, to achieve accurate results for analytics, business intelligence, and reporting. This includes all necessary disciplines related to managing data as a valuable resource and through supporting the development of a long-term, sustainable foundation to meet organizational needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify data related shortcomings, both procedural and technical in nature, and solution for increasing capability of managing, capturing, and using data

  • Act as liaison between business leads, subject matter experts, Operations teams, and IT project leads to implement and maintain consistent data governance and quality improvement initiatives across functional areas

  • Support the analysis and documentation of data capture to execute upon reporting requirements to meet business needs

  • Investigate data quality related issues and trends via querying of databases and analysis of results

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree

  • 5+ years' work experience and solid understanding of Property & Casualty insurance company, preferred

  • Experience developing data and reporting queries, associated data analyses

  • Prior work experience on data warehousing and management reporting projects or initiatives

  • Data Management Certifications or equivalent work experience desired

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel, MS Access, PowerPoint, and SQL skills

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with capability to deliver complex information in a clear and concise manner

  • Propensity to comprehensively balance short term and long term deliverables

  • Strong analytical skills with the aptness to identify opportunities for operational and/or technical advances around data management

  • Skillful interpersonal and collaboration required to achieve results within and across diverse organizational units and disciplines

  • Robust attention to detail

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability

  • Works successfully both independently as well as in a team environment

Everest Insurance has a great opportunity for a Data Asset Management Business Lead that will drive data strategy, quality, and governance to ensure consistent and high-quality data across the Everest Insurance organization – focusing on the end product of strong analytics, management reporting, and business intelligence used for strategic decision-making. As a key leader within the Corporate Underwriting/Business Performance Management team, this role will coordinate closely with the IT organization and numerous functional areas and underwriting leadership. Responsibilities: * Develop and implement sustainable solutions for ensuring high quality data/reporting throughout the organization * Identify data-quality related issues and take actions to understand root cause and remediate problems * Drive/execute on strategic initiatives that allow us to leverage additional data sources/elements for increased business insights * Coordinate closely with IT Leaders, to implement and maintain consistent data governance and quality improvement initiatives across functional areas Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree required * 10 or more years of work experience in Data, Analytics, Underwriting or Actuarial roles * Strong work experience in Property & Casualty Insurance Industry required * Deep understanding of Commercial Lines analytics/metrics/KPIs * Management experience preferred * Data Management Certifications or equivalent work experience desired * Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint) skills required; SQL skills preferred Everest National Insurance Company Liberty Corner NJ
