Execute the organizations data governance strategy, which intends to make data available, usable, trusted and secure across the organization. They will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices, both at the department and Business and Functional areas level, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs. The Data Governance Specialist serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues and will work closely with Business and Functional area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic requirements of the department.

  • Implement data quality policies, standards, and procedures for both legacy and new data systems
  • Document data lineage and processes for business and technical perspective
  • Interpret business requirements and implications for data governance processes
  • Help assess the current state of data processes and identify areas of need
  • Document and establish governance maturity measures, data quality rules, and other-related KPIs
  • Assist in the sourcing, hiring, and onboarding of team members
  • Drives training and awareness efforts on the importance of trust, security, availability, and consistent usage of data
  • Lead daily data management and data governance initiatives
  • Builds and manages processes and tools to support Data Governance role in data issue management
  • Defines templates and artifacts to be delivered as part of Data Governance function
  • Works with technical teams to develop and implement analysis tools for data quality
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Technology teams on fulfilling business requirements and change management
  • Utilize advanced data mining tools and techniques to analyze large data sets with the goal of understanding data for use in data mapping, data transformation and system/business rules
