GDIT is seeking a full-time, experienced Data Entry Specialist to perform a variety of critical tasks focused primarily on the coordination, support and processing of reports sent to a Centers for Disease Control customer by regulated entities and organizations. The position is onsite at the customer's location in Atlanta, GA. Duties will include the receipt, triage, processing, and records management of the reports and will require a continuous and analytical review of both the submitted reports as well as the accuracy of their entry and transcription into a custom database and various spreadsheet tools. The individual will also be responsible for drafting and transmitting correspondence, maintaining spreadsheets, generating reports, tracking and reviewing responses, and the storage of archival documents. The Data Entry Specialist may also be required to provide surge support or provide backup for other existing records management, data entry, and quality control processes.

Major Responsibilities

  • Performs functions of a data entry/records management specialist with a <1% error="">

  • Performs problem resolution for data entry and records management, consulting with project staff as needed.

  • Monitors work flow and maintain logs.

  • Develops and performs document control procedures for submitted documents.

  • Handles multiple tasks simultaneously and demonstrates a high degree of productivity.

  • Conducts/performs database searches.

  • Generates correspondence and reports.

  • Performs quality control checks.

  • Provides administrative and clerical support as needed.

  • Helps to develop standard operating procedures for data and records management activities.

  • Works as a member of a team or independently to accomplish duties and responsibilities.

  • As required, provides backup and/or surge capacity for other existing records management, data entry processes, and quality control processes.

Skills Required

  • Working knowledge of knowledge of regulations 42 CFR 71.54 and 42 CFR 73, and any referenced documents (BMBL, NIH Guidelines and OSHA Guidelines)

  • Experience supporting the Federal Select Agent Program.

  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products.

  • Must have detailed experience with data entry and records management processes for a federal agency.

  • Knowledge of data management principles, including document control and QA/QC.

  • Demonstrated strong attention-to-detail as well as possess an established work ethic that will compliment a high-volume, production-oriented environment.

  • Excellent listening, comprehension, communications (verbal and written), problem solving and customer-service skills.

  • Ability to interact with clients and team-members in a professional manner in order to provide rapid inquiry response and other routine customer support.

  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively and as a member of a team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit at and operate a computer for extended periods. Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching with hands and arms are required to retrieve and re-file file folders. The employee must lift and/or move up to 40 pounds on a routine basis.
