As a Pharmacy Technician in our Data Entry department, you will assist with maintaining prescription information for both new and existing customers in collaboration with a team of pharmacists in accordance with state and federal pharmacy regulations. Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Employees will be on-site for training during their 1st two weeks. Upon completion of training, all new colleagues will work from home. In order to do so, you will be required to have access to a reliable broadband internet connection, either through DSL, cable, or fiber-to- home (FiOS or Fiber Optic) with a minimum internet speed requirement of 10 mbps download and 5 mbps upload contracted speed, ability to connect to the PillPack network via a hardwired internet connection, not via WIFI, a separate room or part of a room for your home work area that is private and free of distractions (i.e. barking dogs, television noise, music, children, etc.) and is able to devote full attention to the PillPack customer during work hours. Note that while WFH is currently approved, it is subject to change in accordance with any regulatory requirements.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist the pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the state board of pharmacy

  • Enter patient and order information into the pharmacy system

  • Provide quality customer service to co workers

  • Collect, organize, and evaluate of patient information

  • Receive prescriptions sent electronically from the doctor's office

  • Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that the information is complete and accurate

  • Establish and maintain patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients

  • Process new and refill prescriptions

  • Accept customer and prescription information required to process new and refill prescriptions, including refill authorization from doctor offices where permitted by state law

  • Communicate with patients by telephone and takes refill requests from patients. Transfers calls from providers to the pharmacist when necessary

  • Perform other tasks assigned while working in a fast paced environment

  • Work a flexible schedule - shifts will possibly start and end outside of normal business hours including weekends

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent diploma

  • Arizona State Board of Pharmacy License in good standing (This includes Pharmacy Technician, Trainee, and Assistant Licenses)

  • 6+ months of relevant experience working with computer and web based tools

  • Experience recognizing and identifying patient medications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA)

  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member

  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail

  • Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced work environment while consistently meeting standards for productivity and quality

Salary

  • Pharmacy Technician Trainee $15.00/hr

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician $18.00/hr

As a Pharmacy Technician in our Fulfillment department, you will be responsible for assisting with drug preparation and dispensing under the direct supervision of a pharmacist in accordance with state pharmacy regulations. This role will report to a Pharmacy Technician Team Lead. Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test. Key Job Responsibilities: * Assist pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the state board of pharmacy * Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations * Work daily with Leadership to ensure the right medications are put in the right packets * Run automated machinery required to pre-sort and package medications * Fill exception trays with appropriate medication * Transition PillPacks through different workflow stages from initial dispense through quality control * Count and fill prescription vials and affix labels on bulk prescription items * Pack and ship completed PillPacks including printing and affixing appropriate labels on dispenser, shipping boxes * Sort and triage the right boxes to ship at the right time * Aid the distribution manager and distribution pharmacists with receiving, shipping, counting, and packing * Clean, and help maintain, equipment and work areas * Package medications for dispensing and for delivery * Work a flexible schedule - shifts will possibly start and end outside of normal business hours * Perform other tasks assigned while working in a fast paced environment * Standing during shifts lasting up to 12 hours (standard full-time shifts are 10 hours excluding overtime, flex and part-time shifts may vary) * Lifting and moving products up to 49 lbs in weight * Lifting, bending, reaching above the head, kneeling, crouching, and/or stretching for 12 hours (standard full-time shifts are 10 hours excluding overtime, flex and part-time shifts may vary) * Pushing and pulling product up to 49 lbs in weight for 12 hours (standard full-time shifts are 10 hours excluding overtime, flex and part-time shifts may vary) * Manual dexterity of both hands and wrists Basic Qualifications: * High school or equivalent diploma * Arizona State Board of Pharmacy License in good standing (This includes Pharmacy Technician, Trainee, and Assistant Licenses) * 6+ months of experience working with computer and web based tools Preferred Qualifications: * National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA) * Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member * Strong organization skills and attention to detail * Ability to recognize and identify patient medications * Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced work environment while consistently meeting standards for productivity and quality Salary: * Certified Pharmacy Technician $18.00/hourly * Pharmacy Technician Trainee $15.00/hourly * Shift differential bonuses offered for overnights Shifts * Nights - 6:00p-4:30a * Sun-Wed * Wed-Sat * Mon/Tu/Th/Fr * Fri-Mon * Thu-Sun * Sat-Tues Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
