verifying machine at a minimum rate of 25 records or 7,000 keystrokes per hour with an
error rate of no more than 10% at the time of hire.

Operation of data entry equipment to enter and verify data from source documents into media suitable for electronic data processing. Duties include reviewing data (alphabetic and/or numeric) from a variety of source documents; selecting data to be entered into appropriate format(s); entering data using alphabetic/numeric data entry equipment; and performing other related duties as assigned.
The immediate vacancy is located in the Department of Accounting and General Services, Information and Communication Services Division, Production Services Branch. The primary duties and responsibilities of the position involve operating a data entry terminal with multiple function keys to enter financial, statistical, personal, and payroll data from various source documents; verifying the captured data by re-entering data to ensure accuracy and consistency; and correcting data entry errors.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:
Basic Education/Experience Requirement: Work experience which demonstrated knowledge of English grammar, spelling, arithmetic; ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions; write simply and directly; and compare words and numbers quickly and accurately. This requirement may also be met by possession of a high school diploma, or equivalent.
Skill Requirement: Must be able to use a computer keyboard and a ten-key numeric keypad by touch.
