JOB SUMMARY: Data enter applications submitted by agents for insurance products which may include Medicare Supplement, Convalescent Care, and Life Insurance. Identify any problems with the application and corresponding documents submitted, noting discrepancies and/or making outbound phone calls to obtain needed information required for processing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned as necessary):

  • Must be able to work your scheduled shift and if needed, rotate schedules with other employees for proper departmental staffing needs and /or Work Overtime if needed.

  • Using the main frame computer system, data enter application into the database, ensuring that agent is appointed in the state where the application was written, application was signed by both the agent and applicant, and the correct state-approved application and required miscellaneous forms are submitted and complete.

  • Calculate modal premium due, noting any shortage or overage.

  • Using the main frame computer system, input premium in to the database and prepare and balance deposits for any premium received, when applicable.

  • Make outgoing calls to agents or applicants to verify information that is left blank or unclear on the application.

  • Produce and send outbound electronic notices to agents related to delays, problems and/or missing information.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Language skills: ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and written handouts. Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Reasoning ability: need to apply common sense to carry out written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to deal with problems with multiple variables. Honesty, as well as respect, for the company and its policies & procedures is crucial

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent. Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience or minimum one year experience in an advanced clerical position using independent judgement.

The Order Entry Associate is responsible for reviewing customer purchase orders for completeness and entering them into the order management system. This position involves making outbound calls to distributors to retrieve any information that may have been missed in the original order. Additionally, our Order Entry Associates are tasked with utilizing the information provided by the customer to make important decisions surrounding pricing, ship methods, etc. in order to provide a positive BIC experience.
