JOB SUMMARY: Data enter the prescription drug information from applications submitted by agents for insurance products which may include Medicare Supplement, Convalescent Care, and Life Insurance. Identify any problems with the prescription drug information section of the application and make outbound phone calls to obtain needed information required for processing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned as necessary):
Must be able to work your scheduled shift and if needed, rotate schedules with other employees for proper departmental staffing needs and /or Work Overtime if needed.
Using a web based program, data enter the prescription drug information into the database, ensuring that prescription drug name, date originally prescribed, dosage and frequency are captured correctly.
Must be able to recognize misspelled prescription drug names, recognize accurate dosages, and should have a general knowledge of what a prescription medication can be commonly used to treat.
Make outgoing calls to agents for information that is left blank or unclear in the prescription drug information section of the application.
Produce and send outbound electronic notices to agents related to delays, problems and/or missing information.
You may be asked to assists with data entering applications using the main frame computer system.
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
High School Diploma/GED with one (1) year experience
Language skills: ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and written handouts.
Reasoning ability: need to apply common sense to carry out written and/or verbal instructions.
Must be able to deal with problems containing multiple variables.
Pharmacy background is preferred.
Honesty, as well as respect, for the company and its policies & procedures is crucial.
