Summary

We are looking for Data Entry Specialists . Must have strong typing skills and candidates must posses excellent attention to detail. Must be able to accurately record data in a timely manner. Qualified candidates must have experience in a Data Entry or strong typing role.Responsibilities:

  • Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners
  • General office tasks such as answering phones, writing thank you notes, processing paperwork, etc...
  • Type in data provided directly from study participants
  • Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents
  • Update existing data
  • Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned


Skills:

  • Proven experience as data entry clerk
  • General office skills
  • Fast typing skills; Knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Basic understanding of databases
  • Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Timely evaluation/sign-off of study documentation

Ideal Candidates will have a positive attitude , strong organizational skills and be able to work independently.</p><p><strong>PURPOSE/FUNCTION</strong></p><p>Participate in the performance of a variety of duties involved in collecting and entering data into an electronic computer according to programmed instructions; verify and distribute resultant printouts as required. </p><p>Working Conditions/Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are the representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. Duties typically involve long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. Incumbent will also have to do some lifting of supplies, materials of 15 lbs. or more with assistance. Great mental ability is required daily. Employee may be faced with constant interruptions and must meet with others on a regular basis. </p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></p><ul> <li>Input data and records into inventory and tracking software programs.</li> <li>Coordinate the collection of data from point of origin; participate in the preprocessing of data to locate missing information and to make corrections as necessary. </li> <li>Verify data entered into computer by checking printouts for errors and correcting as required; perform statistical checks to ascertain accuracy of data entered. </li> <li>Assist in data collection and compilation for revisions to the data processing system. </li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Qualification Requirements:</strong> High school diploma or equivalent. Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to follow oral and written instructions, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, ability to work independently. </p><p><strong>Minimum Requirements:</strong> Basic data entry skills and answering phones. Must maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times. Office equipment experience such as: calculator, computer, and printers. Able to use Microsoft Office efficiently at an intermediate level and have a basic knowledge of computers.
