  • This is a Temp-To-Hire, W-2 position. We are not able to do 1099 or C2C.

  • It is a fully remote role that will need to be based in the U.S.

How you'll make an impact

How will I contribute to the business?

As a Sr. Data Engineer you will be a key member of the GBS IT Data and Analytics team. This role will be proficient in investigating, transforming, and combining data of different data sources and types.

Ideal candidates are prepared to design appropriate solutions to support business data needs and create consumable analysis-ready data sets. The Sr. Data Engineer will educate business partners on the use and sources of data. They will identify and explore new data sources and be primarily focused on developing integration processes between systems. The role function involves the processing, planning and organization of the data as well as supporting data load and integration services to ensure efficient and effective business operations while establishing and enforcing standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains optimal data pipeline architecture for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources - both internal and external

  • Assembles large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements

  • Builds industrialized analytic datasets and delivery mechanisms that utilize the data pipeline to deliver actionable insights

  • Identifies, designs, and implements internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.

  • Investigates data, data sources and performs data quality analysis

  • Communicates and maintains master data, metadata, data management repositories, logical data models, data standards

  • Collaborates with engineers to help adopt best practices in data system creation, data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation

  • Works with stakeholders including the executive, product, data and technology teams to support their data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-related technical issues

  • With minimal direction, plans, implements, manages, and/or contributes on projects that are moderate to high complexity and scale using accepted project management standards

  • Trains/coaches team members or peers and actively shares expertise with peers

About You

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (IT or Business related discipline); 5 years related experience.

  • Hands-on experience integration technologies such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Azure Data Factory, Azure Logic Apps, Databricks, Azure Integration Services or similar technologies.

  • Experienced in integrating data to/from Microsoft SQL Server, Salesforce, Dynamics CRM, Dynamics 365, Azure SQL, Azure SQL DW, Azure Synapse Analytics.

  • Working knowledge of analytical tools like Power BI.

  • Mastery of relational SQL databases.

  • Experienced with data pipeline and workflow management tools:

  • Experienced with data wrangling and preparation for use within data science, business intelligence or similar analytical workflows

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups and all organizational levels

  • High level organizational and project management skills in order to handle multiple concurrent assignments in a timely manner and to monitor processes throughout a team or department

  • Strong decision-making skills
