We need a Data Engineer! Prime Global Finance enjoys a unique vantage point into everything happening within Amazon. This role will be part of a team that is responsible for managing the data architecture and generating data insights across two of the most impactful and high visibility areas within Amazon: Prime and Lifecycle Engagement.

The DE will partner with teams across finance, marketing, research etc. to design and develop processes and architecture that will enable Business Intelligence Engineers and analysts drive analysis and insights of the business for key stakeholders across the entire Prime and Lifecycle Engagement organizations. You will push traditionally accepted process boundaries and work to automate scalable solutions leveraging AWS and BI tools including but not limited to Tableau, QuickSight, Shiny, etc.

The data flowing through our platform directly contributes to decision-making by WW Prime and Lifecycle Engagement leaders at all levels of organizational leadership. Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Working with stakeholders and other engineering teams to identify and scope the right data architecture and technology to be used to facilitate analysis of most common Amazon customer behavioral questions.

  • Partnering with partner engineering teams to enhance data infrastructure, data availability, and broad access to customer insights made available through BI tools across the organization.

  • Design, build and implement the right ETL processes using AWS and similar technologies.

  • Implement anomaly detection systems to have a proactive approach to any potential data quality issues, using industry standard frameworks.

  • Enable large scale analytics using EMR and other big data technologies.

  • Establishing and implementing technology best practices that should be followed across the organization.

  • Work on proof of concepts for adoption of new technology and tools.

The Prime Member Spend Insights team is part of the broader Prime-LEO-XCM (PLX) finance team and owns developing insights on Prime member behavior to optimize for spend growth. It also provides Amazon with a consistent framework for comparing spend growth across countries and over time. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and partnering within the Finance function to create metrics and perform analysis to support strategic business decisions and develop insights that guide the company on increasing per Prime member spend. This role will also be responsible for cadenced reporting and working with our FP&A and International Emerging teams on cadenced reporting and providing weekly/monthly/quaterly insights to inform our investment decisions. Responsibilities include but not limited to: * Perform timely and insightful analysis of financial results. Support financial review processes including weekly, monthly and quarterly business financial reviews, planning, forecasting, and ad-hoc analytics. * Creating, improving, and maintaining financial metrics, reports and scorecards. * Facilitating financial review meetings with business partners, Finance, and Marketing stakeholders to support decision making. * Develop tools to simplify Prime member spend metrics. * Work with data source providers to ensure that data is accurate, automated and timely. * Build and leverage relationships within a highly matrixed organizational structure. * Be comfortable with large volumes of complex data and presenting findings to senior PLX finance leaders. * Ability to operate in fast paced environment Amazon.Com, Inc.
