Our Opportunity:

Our client has been a leader in financial services for nearly four decades, working to make investing more affordable, accessible and understandable to all. The Trading Technology team is responsible for handling Equity/Options/Futures/Fixed Income order management and market data for the entire firm. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to work in our dynamic and collegiate team.

What youll do:

Design, Manage Aerospike farm for real-time trading applications.

Collaborate with Architects and Developers to develop data platform capabilities.

Proactively manage capacity, integrity, availability of Aerospike farm.

Evangelize product features and influence adaptation of Aerospike solution.

Required Skills:

Intimate knowledge of Aerospike data platform, administration, tuning and high availability.

Proficient in SQL, Python and Bash

Extensive knowledge on Linux

Demonstrated use of open source technologies such as (not limited to) Splunk, GIT, Telegraph.

Knowledge of one or more SQL databases.

Knowledge of distributed systems and messaging architectures.

Helpful Skills:

Financial services industry experience

Agile methodologies

Personal Skills:

Strong customer orientation with an affinity to proactively own, communicate, and follow-through projects and issues

Extreme sense of ownership to resolve problems in a distributed environment

Gritty resolve to dig deeper into technical issues in a complex trading eco-system

Well organized, with the ability to express precise and clear in written and verbal forms

Strong team orientation and initiative to collaborate with a diverse team

The right candidate will be working with a big data platform engineering team in the Global Data Technology organization. You will use Hadoop technology to implement and support new solutions within the MapR environment.
