Moog's Corporate Group is for a Data Engineer (DE) to join them in East Aurora, NY.

The Data Engineer (DE) reports into the Corporate IT Data Services group. The Data Services group will focus on providing an enterprise standard and centralized approach around storing, maintaining and distributing Moog data and information on a global scale in an effort to provide more advanced analytics.

The DE's main function is serving as senior technical person for coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and implementing new data environments, or maintenance/enhancement to existing data environments. The DE may also be involved in assisting other IT/business personnel with the analysis and design of data environments or maintenance/enhancements to existing data environments. By following the guidelines in the IT Systems and Procedures documents, the DE will produce the necessary deliverables (end products) of the assigned tasks.

In this role, you will:

  • Strategically synthesize, design, and implement data solutions and architectures to support core organizational functions.

  • Serve as senior technical person for data solutions and architectures in relation to storage, governance, quality, cleansing and distribution.

  • Design the infrastructure and processes for optimal execution of data transformation.

  • Analyze the business-IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for data improvement (systems of record, differentiation and innovation).

  • Facilitate the evaluation and selection of data toolsets required to achieve business objectives.

  • Collaborate with appropriate business groups (ex: trade compliance and intellectual property) when designing architectural solutions that impact storage and exposure of data.

  • Participate in the design and execution of governance activities associated with ensuring data solutions architecture assurance and compliance.

  • Provide design decisions around data warehouse solutions that involve multiple disparate ERP and business systems.

  • Stay current on new technology and provide education and coaching to peers on data technologies.

  • Ensure a quality level of documentation is produced and maintained in regards to data solutions architecture.

Here are the skills you will bring with you:

  • Typically, a four-year bachelor of science (BS) college degree in a technical discipline

  • Minimum 2 years of programming experience

  • Excellent written and verbal skills, problem solving, decision making and communications skills required

  • Ability to be able to work effectively within a team and inspire team members

  • Strong data skills required:

  • SQL, Python and ETL

  • Distributed data management or data virtualization

  • Data governance and data quality

  • Data storage, security and operations

  • Data modeling, modeling analysis and integration

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Storage, Databricks highly desired

  • Knowledge in manufacturing highly desired

  • Experience in Talend, Microsoft SSIS, Powershell, Agile desired

  • Experience in Microsoft SSRS, Microsoft Power BI and Tibco Spotfire, is a plus

  • Knowledge in Azure SQL, SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, is a plus

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, is a plus

Salary Range:

  • The base pay range for this opportunity is $60,736.00 to $85,000.00.

The base pay range represents the low and high end of the Moog pay range or indicates the hourly rate for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on many factors such as skills, experience, certifications and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include a profit share bonus, employee stock purchase plan, a flexible paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits.

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
