About the role:

Metropolitan Commercial Bank (the "Bank") is offering an opportunity for a Data Engineer who will work within the Bank's growing team of developers and business analyst, performing data integration, data reconciliation and data analytics for both internal and external clients and participating in innovative projects in an Agile environment, as well as provide technical and non-technical support to users on internal and external systems. The position reports directly to the manager of the Application Support and Development team, under the Chief Digital Officer (CDO). This position is ideal for a candidate who will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Duties and responsibilities of the job include the following (but is not limited too):

• Works with lines of businesses to determine and implement cost effective solutions to help improve business processes.

• Work with lines of business on their reporting and data analytics needs.

• Participate in group development projects. Coordinate with IT and business users, adhere to deadlines, and meet all assigned tasks.

• Participating in the data governance as the Data Steward for IT and coordinating with all business unit to keep data catalog updated.

• Responsible for gathering requirements, converting business specifications into technical specifications, and preparing technical data mapping documentations.

• Assist with the implementation of innovative changes that improve workflow and bring efficiency. These initiatives may be either requested or self-initiated as part of continuous improvement.

• Identify the data gaps in the applications integration and timely plan the remediations.

• Work on data visualization and reporting using Business Intelligence tools.

• Coordinate with users and perform data integration testing as needed.

• Support the production environment by either resolving technical or functional data issues, in line with the procedures defined by the Bank.

• Communicate regularly with users and other IT members regarding import status, data reconciliation and metadata management etc.

• Thoroughly document all data lineage, data usage, and reconciliation according to relevant policies and standards.

• Should also keep his/her own skills up to date with the latest BI platforms, and best practices.

• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred experience, education, and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required.

• 2+ years of data analytics experience within a banking environment.

• Perform quality work within determined timeframes

• Interact professionally with other employees, customers, vendors and shareholders

• Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees, departments, divisions, etc.

• Work on ad-hoc tasks, assignments and projects as needed

Potential Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 annually

This salary range only reflects base wages and does not include benefits, bonus, or incentive pay. Salary bands are purposefully wide ranging to encompass the different factors considered in determining where a candidate falls in the range, including but not limited to, seniority, performance, experience, education, and any other legitimate, non-discriminatory factor permitted by law.
