Minimum qualifications:

• Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Economics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 4 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis.

• Experience with machine learning on computing systems such as Hadoop, MapReduce, or similar environments.

Preferred qualifications:

• 6 years of experience in a Data Science role, working with SQL/MySQL.

• Experience leveraging data insights into storytelling for business stakeholders.

• Knowledge of R or Python.

• Ability to convince business stakeholders and communicate complex analysis insights to non-technical audiences.

About the job

As a Machine Learning (ML) Data Engineer on this team, you will be a strategic thinker, bringing your business and product judgment to drive our data strategy. You will leverage your analytic capabilities to ideate, discover, and ingest signals into our dataset, making them optimally structured for our Causal ML problem.

In this role, you will partner with other Business Data Scientists to build, evaluate, iterate, present, and implement your findings into our Channel Assignment process, changing the way GBO operates.

You will be tasked with creating a new dataset and building a Causal ML model to improve and automate assignments, and discover new patterns in the data that will completely revolutionize the way our business manages our clients. This role will be critical in driving a major step-function improvement in the way our customers get assigned to the appropriate and most optimal sales channel.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000-$223,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Develop core dataset and signal repository, using SQL or other scripting languages for Machine Learning. Create an expansive dataset that describes the Google Ads Customer, in as much detail as reasonable, that will enable us to determine the optimal Sales Treatment for that customer.

• Investigate, ideate, build, and streamline major signal repository to enable ML and unique insights.

• Analyze data and partner with other Business Data Scientists to help us understand drivers of historical business performance. Leverage insights to determine areas of opportunity for improvement in sales treatment.

• Build Causal ML models to improve Sales Channel assignments and treatment.
