About this opportunity

The successful Data Engineer intern will be provided a mentored learning experience and the opportunity to grow his/her classroom knowledge and skills in collaborative professional work environment.

This internship will give you an amazing opportunity to work on key projects and initiatives to identify new patterns and make new discoveries that will enhance our product offering. The Data Engineer intern will draw upon the practice of data analysis, data management methodologies, data mining, pattern recognition, data modeling, machine learning and various statistical methods in order to help solve large scale optimization problems. This will be a three-month internship based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

In this role, you will

Build Big Data data sets that will be used in Power BI visualizations.

Communicate with internal and external clients to understand business needs and provide analytical solutions.

Use statistical concepts such as regression, time series, mixed model, Bayesian methods, clustering, etc., to analyze data and provide insights.

Work in an agile, collaborative environment, partnering with other scientists, engineers, and database administrators to bring analytical rigor and statistical methods to the challenges of predicting behaviors.

In this role, you'll need

Experience and Education

Excellent problem solving skills

Experience in debugging, troubleshooting, and designing & implementing solutions to complex technical issues

Ability to work in a team environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong technical and analytical abilities, a knack for driving impact and growth, and some experience with programming/scripting in a language such as Java or Python

Basic understanding of statistical programming in a language such as R or SAS

Basic knowledge of statistical concepts such as regression, time series, mixed model, Bayesian methods, clustering, etc., to analyze data and provide insights preferred

Must be enrolled or accepted into an accredited Data Science/Data Enginering degree program
