Summary: The Data Engineer II is responsible for the design, development, implementation, security and maintenance of the company data warehouse and related technologies. Responsible for verifying accuracy of data, creating performant, low-impact collections, and supporting enterprise data through the full life cycle from collection to presentation to archiving. This role requires a strong understanding of business processes and collaboration with analysts and all levels of management for requirements gathering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design, construct, install, test and maintain highly scalable data management systems.

  • Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models and proof of concepts for data collection.

  • Product quality and timely deliverables as part of data operations project teams.

  • Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data.

  • Develop data set processes for production use.

  • Use and support of various Enterprise Data Mining tools.

  • Verify accuracy of data throughout the business.

  • Recommend and implement ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.

  • Defines user interfaces and functional specifications.

  • Acceptance test planning & execution.

  • Perform peer reviews and take ownership to ensure quality of data.

  • Management of enterprise-wide data resources at the conceptual, logical and physical level

  • Employ a variety of languages and tools for data collection

  • Design technical architectures.

  • Maintain detailed documentation on all processes

  • Production support on a rotating basis.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Professional Skills:

  • Must be organized and capable of providing leadership in a structured environment while requiring minimal day-to-day guidance.

  • Ability to prioritize end-user requirements.

  • Ability to translate business needs into data analysis and reporting solutions.

  • Experience in Data Warehouse architectures, life cycle and deployments.

  • Knowledge of dimension types, member properties, custom members and custom rollup.

  • Understand OLAP server architecture (Analysis Services).

  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming language (C#/VB.NET.)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Experience with Power BI is a plus.)

  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint.

  • Familiarity with web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XSL, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Zap BI and Cube Xpress is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Azure Data Warehousing components.

  • Experience with advanced report creation using MS Reporting Services.

  • Strong Interpersonal and communications skills to effectively communicate and coordinate activities with other IT groups and users.

  • Must be a team player.

  • Ability to facilitate training and to teach end users to use tools and data

  • Skilled Knowledge of MS SQL server, query, reporting and OLAP tools

  • Ability to translate business needs into data management systems

  • Ability to develop business-oriented metadata definitions.

  • Ability to prioritize end-user requirements.

  • Strong relational, dimensional data modeling and database design skills.


Bachelor's Degree or equivalent IT systems experience. Minimum of three years of experience in designing, implementing, and building data management and warehousing systems in a MS SQL Server environment. Must have experience working with MS SQL Server and MSSQL Analysis Services. Proven ability to work throughout the full software development life-cycle. Experience in designing and building the database portion of the solution.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

MCSA or MCSE a plus

Language Ability:

Interpersonal and communications skills must be adequate to effectively communicate with other IT groups, external support vendors, and Theatre management. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Math Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Reasoning Ability:

Perform under pressure and/or opposition at times relying on your own independent judgment and knowledge to decide the best directions and solutions. While representing the company, the marketing coordinator will be required to determine answers to questions and situations which may be socially or politically volatile. Execution and communication of such solutions are often in the public eye.

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, database software
