Data Engineer II

Litehouse is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team!

The Data Engineer II will work as part of a team to help design and develop data-driven solutions that deliver insights to the business. The ideal candidate will have an opportunity to leverage their technical skills to expand and optimize our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as to apply their technical creativity to streamline existing data flows and improve related data collection solutions in support of cross functional teams. The hire will be an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who is proficient with building data-driven systems that drive analytical solutions from the ground up.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Use advanced/complex SQL to extract data from source systems for ingestion into a data pipeline.

• Design, develop and deploy scalable and efficient data pipelines.

• Analyze and assemble large, complex datasets that meet business requirements.

• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements. For example: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing data platform infrastructure for greater scalability.

• Work independently to enable analytics teams and stakeholders across our business, including Executive, Operations, Finance and Sales; assimilate their needs and then design, develop, deliver and support appropriate solutions that deliver data and insights.

• Be a team player and help foster Litehouse culture by leading by example and leveraging company guiding principles.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science or related fields, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, and work experience
• 3-5 Years of experience working with SQL
• 3-5 Years of experience with data engineering tools

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Advanced working knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases, query authoring as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.

• Experience with ETL tools like Alteryx, Informatica, SSIS, or Pentaho.

• Experience in performance tuning and query optimization

• Experience with reporting platforms such as Tableau and Power BI

• Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, etc.

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Direct experience with Alteryx Designer, Alteryx Server, Oracle, and MSSQL

• Working knowledge of orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster, or Perfect

• Familiarity with Machine Learning platforms such as Databricks, SageMaker, H20.ai
