Data Engineer / DeveloperSummary

As a Data Engineer you'll be working for a consulting company at one of their Retail Industry clients locations in Atlanta, GA.

Data Engineer/ DeveloperResponsibilities

  • Review business requirements with client to ensure deliverables meet expectations
  • Provide technical solutions and designs (Data flows, Schemas, Pseudo Codes, Functional Designs) to fit the functional, budgetary, and timeline requirements of the client
  • Develop code, write comprehensive unit test in an Agile / paired programming environment
  • Ensure code readability and in-code documentation
  • Deliver a for full cycle (6 to 8 months long) ETL/data migration project from SQL to No-SQL involving 3+ systems, complex logic transformations and large data (Terabyte)
  • Provides analytics to transparently communicate successful implementation of proof of concepts and / or UAT results, based on numerical and statistical checks in Excel or using tools such as tableau (Tableau is not a must have)
  • Perform code reviews with team members
  • Understand technology and security standards within client environment and ensure 100% compliance to those standards. Communicate risks proactively
  • Honor client privacy standards for code sharing and be sensitive to GDPR requirements
  • Write technical documents on tools such as confluence / wiki or MS Word

Data Engineer / Developer Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Data Engineering / Development Experience
  • Expert in Python 3 (IPython Notebooks as well as Functional Python)
  • Expert in MS SQL
  • Prefer some experience with Tableau
  • 2+ years of experience in Big Data and Cloud technologies (Hadoop/Hbase/Cassandra)
  • 2+ years of experience of working in cloud environments such Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
  • Google BigQuery know-how will be a plus
  • Linux shell experience
  • Experience Code versioning using Git and Git variations
  • No-SQL design experience targeted towards BI and Analytical use cases will be a plus
