ARC is looking for a Data Engineer III to join our team! As a Data Engineer III, you will participate in a flexible agile environment, providing product teams with expertise and leadership in software development and product delivery for an array of data products utilizing the world's most comprehensive and accurate set of airline ticketing data. Additionally, you will explore and innovate new and better ways of providing first-class data to a growing customer base. You will define, model, create, and test services for automated data ingestion, processing, and monitoring. With ARC, you will work within an agile product team to ensure databases, data pipelines, and data platforms are functioning, configured appropriately, and operating efficiently for all ARC products, systems, and services, utilizing the most current cloud technologies. Also, you will work with Solution Architects and Developers to ensure proper event handling, notifications and alerting are built into products as they are developed. Lastly, you will provide mentorship and thought leadership to Data Engineers as well as cross-product guidance to establish and document best practices for Data Engineering, Operations Support, and Data Governance.

What You'll Get to Do:

Design, develop, test, implement and maintain data products to support customer and business requirements. Create automated, forward-thinking, performant, scalable data pipelines and processes. Lead the design and development of processes and best practices that ensure teams have skills necessary to automate and maintain database provisioning, configuration, and maintenance. Ensure that data pipelines and data platforms are functioning, configured appropriately, and operating efficiently for ARC products, systems, and services. Partner with Product Owners, stakeholders, and business SMEs to analyze the customer need and provide supportable and sustainable strategies and solutions. Ensure that the overall technical solution is aligned with the customer and market needs. Solve complex problems in innovative ways to drive the creation and enhancement of product portfolio components by expanding and optimizing data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. As a leader within a product development team, define and develop new approaches for efficiently processing large data volumes in scalable and efficient ways. Ensure data pipelines are supportable and that operational processes and procedures are developed by collaborating with Site Reliability Engineers and Data Operations Engineers to solve customer issues. Provide thought leadership for development teams and business leaders in the latest data processing and platform tools, techniques, technology ideas, patterns, and methodologies; share knowledge by clearly articulating results and ideas to key stakeholders.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required

• 4+ years of experience designing and developing solutions for large-scale data systems, services, and platforms.

• 5+ years of experience with full cycle development (Full SDLC experience: design, development, delivery, etc.)

• 5+ years with Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery

• 5+ years of experience implementing modern data solutions using:

• Cloud-based solutions and technologies. AWS developer environment including, but not limited to, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, Cloudwatch

• Expert in implementing modern data and infrastructure design patterns, stream processing, building data pipelines, etc.

• Deep knowledge and experience with modern database technologies, platforms, and solutions including, but not limited to S3, Snowflake, Python, Postgres, RDS, NoSql databases, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.

• Deep knowledge and experience with data warehouse platforms (such as Teradata, Snowflake, and Redshift).

• Deep knowledge and experience with SQL, database design/structures, ETL/ELT design patterns, and data mart structures

• Experience w/Data Lake concepts and design patterns

• Experience in Data Profiling and Data Analysis to investigate and validate data accuracy.

• Experience with BI Technologies (such as Tableau, Jasper, Cognos, Qlik, Looker, and others)

• Deep knowledge and experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog, CloudHealth, and the Atlassian Suite

• Understanding of Data Management and Data Governance best practices

• Proven ability to lead a group through an architectural development process and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels

• Ability to discover and define functional and non-functional requirements and to transform them into technical requirements and solution definition.

• Proven ability to influence technology strategy and best practices across peer and leadership groups to support an agile development culture

• Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate with internal and external customers and all levels of management, including communicating technical information to nontechnical audiences. Ability to design and document best practices and operations standard operating procedures.

• A strong intellectual curiosity to continually challenge what exists and explore what should be changed to best meet evolving business and market.

• A strong passion to support peers to help meet timelines on larger projects.

• A passion for continual improvement, reduction of MTTR of issues, and a demonstrable ability to lead others in these areas
