The Optum Epic Enterprise Services team is building an innovative, comprehensive Epic services capability using the collective expertise of our clinical, consulting, delivery, technology and operations teams. Our Center of Excellence, based in Nashville, TN, is bringing together some of the greatest minds in the industry to further our mission of making the health system work better for everyone. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as contact for the Data Courier interfaces and protection settings in Epic environments for the rollout of all Epic applications

  • Assist with the development of the change control process charter

  • Learn and aid in the development, documentation, and facilitation of governance processes between business stakeholders and IT teams by building within the existing governance framework and committees

  • Attend and contribute to Change Control, Upgrade Planning, Downtime Planning, and Go-Live Planning committees

  • Configure the Data Courier interfaces and managing the migration and troubleshooting of application build across Epic environments

  • Learn and assist with the creation and maintenance of documentation for use in infrastructure configuration, maintenance, and upgrade planning

  • Move or coordinate application build across Epic environments via Data Courier while ensuring issues related to CID/UCI synchronization and dependencies are identified and resolved

  • Assist in the development of Epic environment strategy and maintain availability and integrity of production, implementation, training, and support environments

  • Contribute to the establishment of a sign-off process for Release Authorizations (RAs) from Epic

  • Evaluate impact of upgrades and patches on current use of Data Courier. Maintain current knowledge of technology trends including, Epic software, and participate in system upgrades and testing

  • Participate in training activities to maintain technical expertise/certification and to broaden product knowledge

  • Mentor with senior level roles to gain expertise in all of the above areas

  • Troubleshoot and/or resolve application issues and escalate more complex issues as appropriate

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate, Bachelor, Master Degree holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Epic's Data Courier tools

  • Professional Healthcare experience

  • Change Management experience and familiarity with complex change management procedures and protocols

  • Possess sufficient Epic systems application knowledge to facilitate build, test, support and training

  • Ability to demonstrate and have a history of team management (informal or formal), cross-team communication and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency with Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint

  • Reside in greater Nashville, TN or willing to relocate to Nashville

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities

  • In-depth knowledge of Epic EMR and the full implementation lifecycle of Epic's suite of EMR applications

  • Teamwork and Collaboration. Consultative and collaborative style with demonstrated ability with cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong internal relationships as well as motivate and inspire other team members through strong consultative skills

  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build partnerships and influence others. Work across team, group and business boundaries to drive commonality and reusability in solution to real-world problems

  • Demonstrate strong relationship management skills and ability to handle challenging interpersonal situations

  • Complete and maintain Epic certification in module supporting
