Job Title: Data Center Operations Analyst
Job Location: Hershey, PA
Summary:
The Data center operations analyst will provide management and oversight of all Hershey data center operations and locations. The analyst will plan, coordinate, and execute data center projects and collaborate with vendors to determine and provide services for upcoming Hershey fulfillment centers. Participate in strategic projects requiring data center services and providing support to Internal IS teams.
Occasional travel (approximately 20%) to Plants, Distribution centers and data centers as needed.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide data center operations support to internal IS teams on projects & ad-hoc requests:
Co-ordinating the shipping of all inbound and outbound shipments at various locations including International locations.
Vendor and Smart hands co-ordination for various data center locations.
Incident handling at the Equinix data center locations and provisioning portal access permissions.
Support the installation and decommissioning of all Tier 1 systems as it relates to each facility.
Communicate and work with vendors on troubleshooting production issues.
Participate in Control M job scheduling activities.
Write technical documentation, operational procedures, and Incident and problem communications and reporting:
Take part in after-hours on-call rotation schedule and weekend activities as required to support the data center operation requirements.
Manage the DCIM tool to monitor power, temperature, humidity, security cameras and other environmental parameters related to data center operations.
Supporting the day- to- day data center operations at various co-locations.
Keep up to date with Data center product offerings
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
Must have a demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills, aspiring to learn new functional, technical and business process areas as required.
Collaborating with team members to provide exceptional customer support.
Intermediate working knowledge of Linux/Unix/Windows Operating systems.
Experience collaborating and working with IS teams, developers and cross-functional
teams to deliver results.
Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, show initiative and respond quickly in a fast paced environment.
Must be a team player and be comfortable working with geographically diverse teams.
Understanding of Change, Incident, Problem and Release Management processes.
Strong problem-solving abilities with an analytic and qualitative eye for reasoning under pressure
Works under limited direction independently
Knowledge of BMC Control M scheduling tool preferred.
Education:
Bachelor of Computer Science degree preferred.
Experience:
Work Experience/Internship in a IS Organization preferred.
