The CAD Designer contributes to design development, as-built and one-line drawings of data center facilities. The designer is also responsible for supporting leadership roles and project management to create new data center facilities design drawings and maintain existing data center facilities drawings as they evolve.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Planning and creating design drawings for the data center rack space in a fast-paced environment

  • Creating and maintaining data sets from CAD that work with internal databases

  • Coordinate efforts between engineers and consultants, internal technical operations teams, and other non-technical teams within the organization to develop specifications, designs, schematics, as-builts and written documentation

  • Maintain current information within Operations and Maintenance manuals, online documentation, and other internal websites

  • Provide support with new innovations

  • Becoming proficient with internal tools for managing projects and maintaining standards/best practices

VIEW JOBS 11/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-10T00:00 Facebook is seeking a Program Manager to join our Global Data Center Connectivity (GDCC) Strategy & Planning Team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly growing infrastructure efficiently operates and our innovative services are delivered. The GDCC Program Manager will manage physical network preconstruction and planning activities for a geographical division of Facebook's Data Centers. The person in this role will be focused on providing comprehensive program management of the project development phase – quarterly strategic planning, design operations and delivery, owner furnished equipment forecasting, partnering with project controls on project approval and cost, and partnering with contracting team on contracting co-ordination and delivery. In addition to core duties, a strong focus on continuous process improvement of preconstruction process and partnership with stakeholders is required. This position is full-time and is based in any of our U.S. Data Center Campus' or main office in Fremont, CA. RESPONSIBILITIES * Work with internal stakeholders to accurately forecast and plan for all projects in geographical region in North America – New builds and retrofits Program manage new data center physical network builds (Outside and Inside Plant), from strategic plan, site development, design, procurement, through beginning of execution Manage GDCC's preconstruction phase of builds with design and field teams, contractors, material vendors and other stakeholders within Facebook Provide regular project status updates and support GDCC and corporate dashboards that highlight program timelines, costs, and status Drive development of tools to track and coordinate GDCC builds, both planned and in-flight Track performance to schedule & financial goals, highlight opportunities for improvement, and drive accordingly Partner with operations, sourcing, & field teams to provide rolling forecasts and to scale resources to meet increasing build and retrofit requirements Assist with developing project budgets and providing ROM cost estimates Travel 20% of the time to Data Center locations to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel, engineering consultants, and contractors Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * 5+ years of work experience in program management Experience in preconstruction and planning Experience overseeing timelines and budgets for projects Experience engaging and guiding stakeholders Experience providing solutions to problems and meeting deadlines Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and MS Project PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience in mission critical environments Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration Data center development and construction experience Knowledge of cabling and networking technologies and standards Facebook is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans in our job application procedures.
